Lead Data Modeler Full Time Location : Indianapolis( Remote ) anywhere but , preference on time zone- EST NO H1B Transfer.
Requirements The Lead Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data models that support business intelligence, analytics, and data warehouse initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, along with the ability to lead a team of data modelers and collaborate with business and IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data models for operational systems, data warehouses, and analytical solutions.
Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient data models.
Ensure data models are aligned with data governance, security, and compliance standards.
Partner with ETL developers, BI teams, and data architects to implement models effectively in the data warehouse and analytics environments.
Review and optimize existing data models for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Establish and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and documentation guidelines.
Mentor and guide junior data modelers and team members.
Evaluate emerging data modeling tools, techniques, and technologies to improve modeling efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
8+ years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, or data warehousing.
Strong knowledge of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data modeling.
Experience with data modeling tools like ERwin, PowerDesigner, SQL Developer Data Modeler, or equivalent.
Strong SQL skills and understanding of database concepts.
Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and BI reporting.
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark, or Databricks.
Familiarity with data governance and master data management (MDM) concepts.
Certification in data modeling or data architecture is a plus.
