Requirements:

  • Develop engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including AC/DC diagrams, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications, and bill of materials
  • Develop SCADA packages, including input/output lists and SCADA setting files
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers
  • Ensure QA/QC processes are followed on all design packages and participate in client meetings and site visits to collect or deliver design data

Job description

Position Overview:

Power Your Future with Qualus as a Owners P&C Engineer.  The P&C Engineer will be responsible for the electrical protection and control systems for transmission, and distribution systems with emphasis on quality and project costs following client’s requirements and internal company’s quality control and quality assurance practices.

 

 

Responsibilities:
  • Development of complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including AC one-line and three-line diagrams, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications and bill of materials.
  • Development of SCADA packages, including input / output list, and SCADA setting files.
  • Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers.
  • Developing, nurturing and maintaining trusted relationships with senior level engineering, managers, and executives with current or prospective clients.
  • Confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customers respond in real time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable articulate manner.
  • Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
  • Perform/Ensure company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are been follow on all design packages.
  • Delegating, planning, prioritizing and reviewing the work of other engineers will be critical.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (not engineering technology program). A Master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. engineering degree.
  • Ten (10) or more years of electrical engineering experience is required, experience in protection and control engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineer registration or plan to become registered is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
  • Must have strong analytical and computer skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Possess to ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of support personnel.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and care.
  • Highly motivated "self-starter".
  • Proven multitasking skills.

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
