Job description


Position: Marketing Cloud Tech Lead
Location: New York/East coast based profiles are preferred. Remote is okay for right resource.
Duration: 6 Months (Potential to extend based on Business needs)

A Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Tech Lead designs, builds, and oversees complex marketing tech solutions, blending strategic architecture with hands-on development, focusing on personalization, data integration (Data Cloud/CRM), journeys, automations (AMPscript, SSJS), and leading teams to deliver scalable campaigns across email/SMS/digital channels, ensuring best practices and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Lead solution design, architecture, development, and delivery of SFMC projects, ensuring scalability and adherence to standards.
Solution Architecture: Translate business needs into technical designs for personalized customer engagement, data modeling, and data flow (CRM, Data Cloud).
Development & Customization: Hands-on coding (AMPscript, SSJS, HTML/CSS), building complex journeys, automations, Cloud Pages, and API integrations.
Data Management: Design data architecture, manage segmentation, ensure data quality, and sync data between SFMC, CRM, and external systems.
Team Leadership & Mentoring: Guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, manage onshore/offshore teams, and foster best practices.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Sales, IT, and clients; run workshops; present solutions; and manage technical trade-offs.
Quality Assurance: Oversee testing, CI/CD pipelines, and ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Skills & Technologies
SFMC Expertise: Deep knowledge of Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email/Mobile Studio, Contact Builder, Content Builder.
Coding/Scripting: AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Integration: Experience with APIs, Marketing Cloud Connect, MuleSoft (often), and third-party system integrations.
Data & Architecture: Data modeling, segmentation, identity resolution, Data Cloud (preferred).
Methodologies: Agile, SDLC.
Typical Qualifications
Proven experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation and development.
Strong background in data architecture and complex integrations.
Experience leading technical teams and projects.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
