The Services Architect (SA) plays a pivotal role within the pre-sales team, partnering with Services Sales Consultants (SSCs) and account teams to design tailored service solutions for retail customers. These solutions encompass NCR Voyix and multivendor hardware and software, with a strong focus on Global Services and Managed Services.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the design and development of end-to-end service solutions, including Break/Fix, Managed Services, and multivendor support.
  • Assess technical feasibility, cost elements, and profitability of proposed solutions to ensure alignment with NCR’s business objectives.
  • Own the internal approval process for service proposals prior to customer submission.
  • Drive the creation and negotiation of customer contracts through to signature.
  • Collaborate with global teams and partners to build scalable, multi-region service models.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and documentation that clearly articulate the business value of proposed services.
  • Support the development of reusable assets including design templates, proposal documents, and pre-sales materials.
  • Challenge commercial models to enhance competitiveness and customer value.
  • Ensure timely delivery of comprehensive service design documentation.

 

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5 years of customer-facing experience in service design, pre-sales, and contract negotiation.
  • Understand and summarise the contents of a corporate P&L.
  • Proven expertise in Break/Fix and Managed Services frameworks, with strong knowledge of ITIL principles (preferably ITIL4).
  • Demonstrated success in designing global or multi-region service solutions.
  • Experience working with partner ecosystems to deliver integrated service offerings.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing deals exceeding $1M USD.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to convey complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Skilled in services cost modelling and developing innovative pricing strategies.
  • Comfortable presenting solutions to senior stakeholders and customers.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field; graduate degree preferred.
  • Industry specialization in retail services.
  • International experience or working within global teams.
  • ITIL4 certification, TOGAF and ISO/IEC 20000 experience or accreditation.
  • Multilingual capabilities.
