Roles & Responsibilities

  • Minimum of twelve years' experience in Project Controls, Planning/Cost Controlling and/or Scheduling.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, finance, accounting or business administration.
  • Demonstrates project management experience and ability to plan, organize, supervise and coordinate technical work; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Primavera, and MS Project; fluent in English and German.

Requirements:

  • Manages, revises, and maintains the status of the detailed project cost estimate/forecast across all project phases from design/engineering through closeout.
  • Tracks and analyzes project costs including budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, and forecasts, including forecast-to-budget, forecast-to-actuals, and contingency analysis.
  • Participates in the development and improvement of project control systems and recommends improvements in systems, tools, and methods for project controls and project management.
  • Communicates effectively with clients and key stakeholders; facilitates team and client meetings; holds regular status meetings and escalates issues as needed.

IPS is continuing hiring for our growing operation in Germany! We are seeking a highly experienced, energetic Project Controls Manager to join our exciting German team to be based either in Frankfurt or in Nuremberg with remote working flexibility.

 

The successful candidate will continue to build and lead an existing team of talented professionals for project controls, cost controlling, scheduling and estimation and will partner with our Pharmaceutical and Biotech clients to apply their Project Controls and Project Management experience, in reviewing, coordinating and summarizing activities as they relate to cost, planning and scheduling, document control and estimating for assigned projects.

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Manages, revises, and maintains the status of the detailed project cost estimate/forecast to include all phases of project execution from design/engineering, material/equipment procurement and deliveries, construction contracts through start-up activities and closeout.
  • Tracks and analyses the project costs including budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, and forecasts.
  • The analysis includes forecast to budget and estimate, forecast to actuals, and contingency analysis.
  • Participates in the development and improvement of project control systems.
  • Recommends improvements in systems, tools, and methods of project controls and project management.
  • Assists in creating detailed project budgets from estimates and in the development of cash flow projections. Works within the Clients Project Management team and manages the overall project costs.
  • Effectively conveys our message in both written and verbal business development discussions.
  • Remains at the forefront of new and emerging industry practices and the potential application on client engagements.
  • Promotes effective communication between project team members and key stakeholders including the client, consultants, contractors, and public entities.
  • Effectively facilitates team and client meetings, acting as chair as appropriate.
  • Holds regular status meetings with the project team.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Minimum of twelve years' experience in Project Controls, Planning/Cost Controlling and or Scheduling
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, finance, accounting or business administration.
  • Progressive ability, capacity and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
  • Demonstrates project management experience.
  • Analytical thinking, structured problem solving skills, superior communications skills, team building and strong work ethic. Must be able to build report with department staff.
  • High level of computer expertise in Word, Excel, Primavera, MS Project.
  • Fluent in English and German
