Job description

Trio Supply Chain Solutions is hiring an ITAD Server Trader focused on acquiring decommissioned servers in bulk. This is a high-energy, deal-driven role for someone who knows how to source server hardware through enterprise refresh pulls, ITAD partnerships, leasing returns, and lifecycle channels — and can negotiate aggressively to secure recurring inbound volume at the lowest possible cost.

This is not a traditional procurement role. We are looking for a trader-style professional who thrives on building pipelines, closing deals, and driving measurable acquisition results.

Responsibilities

Identify and secure sources of decommissioned servers through end users, ITAD partners, leasing providers, VARs, OEM lifecycle channels, and data center refresh programs.

Build and manage a pipeline of recurring inbound server hardware (pallet loads to truckloads).

Negotiate acquisition pricing, terms, and volume agreements to maximize gross margin opportunity and minimize cost per system.

Develop long-term relationships with decision-makers responsible for asset disposition and refresh cycles (ITAM, infrastructure, procurement, and ITAD program managers).

Evaluate incoming server inventory quickly and accurately to determine resale value, teardown value, and refurbishment potential.

Work with internal operations and logistics to coordinate pickups, receiving, and turnaround timelines.

Maintain structured tracking of deals, cost per unit, volume, and pipeline forecast.

Stay current on market pricing, demand trends, and server generation value shifts to support fast decisions and strong negotiation leverage.

Requirements

3+ years of experience sourcing, trading, or acquiring used enterprise server hardware through ITAD, brokerage, lifecycle, leasing, or end-user refresh pulls.

Proven ability to negotiate and close deals involving bulk hardware acquisition (pallets to truckloads).

Strong understanding of enterprise servers, common OEMs, and hardware generations (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, etc.).

Ability to assess hardware value rapidly and make buy decisions based on teardown/refurb/resale economics.

Strong network or ability to build a network with ITAD firms, lifecycle service providers, and enterprise IT disposition teams.

Comfortable operating in a performance-driven environment with clear acquisition KPIs and targets.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Experience

Existing book of contacts in ITAD, leasing, lifecycle services, or enterprise IT disposition.

Experience in hardware brokerage, resale, or teardown economics.

Experience structuring recurring pull programs or pipeline deals with enterprise clients.

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus performance bonus tied directly to acquisition volume, cost-per-unit, and gross profit contribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in sourcing, procurement, or related fields with a focus on IT assets preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electronics, specifically server hardware, and IT asset disposition (ITAD) processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping and compliance.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability
  • Training & Development
  • Work From Home
  • Wellness Resources
