The Role
We are looking for a Principal Virtualization Engineer to join our VMware team supporting Solera’s key virtualization environments for our global market. This Principal Virtualization Engineer will be a part of a team of engineers who are responsible to manage, design and support Solera virtualization technologies across Solera’s state of the art datacenters around the world. They should have no problem rolling up their sleeves to aid the teams to deliver, helping gather requirements or diving deep into data modelling with business analysts.
We require a technically skilled individual with a keen eye for detail, a tenacious mind-set to overcome obstacles and a focus on quality, to work within the Global IT Operations Team.
What You’ll Do
Maintain vCenters, ESXi, and vRealize suite of products.
Design and implement new hypervisor solutions based on technical requirements.
Manage host maintenance, monitor systems, and respond to alerts.
Follow Change Control procedures for patching, infrastructure changes, and day-to-day operations.
Create and update documentation for internal processes and procedures.
Complete daily operational tasks, including change requests and troubleshooting tickets.
Collaborate on Global Solera projects and support cross-functional teams.
Mentor junior members in the team and create project plans for internal projects.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in systems administration, engineering, or DevOps, with a primary focus on virtualization.
3+ years of technical leadership experience across multi-disciplinary agile teams.
