Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level COBOL Developer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining enterprise COBOL applications. You will join a collaborative team that values clean code, strong problem-solving skills, and continuous improvement within a modernizing mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain COBOL-based applications that are efficient, scalable, and reliable.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and enhance existing functionality.
Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to high coding and design standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain application stability and performance.
Partner with QA, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure smooth deployments and successful releases.
Continuously explore and adopt new tools, technologies, and best practices within the mainframe ecosystem.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
3–5 years of experience in COBOL development (Batch, CICS, or both).
Strong understanding of structured programming and software design principles.
Hands-on experience with mainframe technologies, including:

JCL
CICS
DB2
VSAM

Familiarity with version control tools such as Git (especially in modernized environments).
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
