Requirements:

Be exposed to evidence-based interventions and support treatment for adults and youth with Substance Use Disorder and/or Mental Health disorders

Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) is the most comprehensive mental health agency in the tri-state region serving adults with mental illness, addiction and related challenges. GCBHS is fully certified, nationally accredited, and is a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization. GCBHS’ skilled staff provides an extensive and wide-ranging network of services for its clients, over 40% of whom have been diagnosed with psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Job description

Are you a social work student ready to take action and make a difference in people's lives? GCBHS is the perfect place for you to gain hands-on experience while helping individuals with mental illness, addiction, and other challenges lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) has openings for Social Work internships. We are seeking open-minded individuals who are in a Social Work program and are ready to learn by doing. This is an unpaid internship. Internship Requirements

Must be a current student in an accredited social work program
Candidate must be local - This is an in-person internship

What You'll Learn:

You'll learn a variety of therapy skills and interventions including diagnostic and assessment skills, individual, group, and family interventions, crisis management, and trauma-informed care.

You'll also learn essential skills to prepare you for your career such as using electronic health records, managing a caseload, working on a team, and exposure to evidence-based interventions.

We specialize in treating adults and youth with Substance Use Disorder and/or Mental Health disorders.

Someone who is tech-savvy has strong communication skills and has an open mind to try new things and think outside the box. Additionally, the ability to ask for help when needed.
