Requirements:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during sales and implementation; translate needs into packaging solutions; support the sales team with technical insights; prepare and present proposals with layouts, cost estimates, and ROI calculations
  • Lead PSE project management and innovation by defining scope and deliverables, coordinating requirements and timelines, and guiding cross-functional teams through development and deployment; support post-project reviews and NPIs; ensure compliance with CE/UL and customer requirements
  • Drive and own key sales performance metrics, including tracking conversion rate, revenue growth, sales cycle length, pipeline value, customer satisfaction, and technical win rate; prepare executive-level dashboards
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives based on customer feedback and market trends; collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to implement improvements

Summary:
Highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering to lead and support customer-specific applications and solutions in our “Pack Space Excellence Department”. This role involves translating customer needs into tailored technical solutions, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and ensuring successful deployment and integration of Ranpak systems.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during the sales and implementation process:
o Understand customer needs and translate them into effective packaging solutions in close collaboration with the Sales Manager.
o Support the sales team with technical insights during customer meetings, trainings, and trade shows.
o Prepare and present solution proposals, including layouts, cost estimates, and ROI calculations
o Lead customer application projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.

• PSE Project Management and Innovation:
o Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to define application scope and deliverables.
o Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align on application requirements and timelines.
o Lead cross-functional teams in the development and deployment of customized solutions.
o Support post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions.
o Provide input on product improvements and new product introductions (NPIs) based on customer feedback and market trends.
o Identify opportunities for application optimization and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
o Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., CE, UL_CA) and customer-specific requirements.

• Drive and own key Sales Performance Metrics:
o Sales Conversion Rate – Track the percentage of proposals that convert into closed deals.
o Revenue Growth – Monitor revenue generated from new and existing customers.
o Sales Cycle Length – Analyze the average time from initial contact to deal closure.
o Pipeline Value – Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
o Customer Satisfaction (NPS or CSAT) – Gather feedback to ensure high service quality.
o Technical Win Rate – Evaluate success in winning technical validations or trials.
o Prepare executive-level presentations and dashboards to communicate application status and key sales performance metrics

Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a sales background
o 5+ years of experience in application engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial automation setting
o Strong customer orientation and ability to translate needs into technical solutions
o Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
o ERP knowledge (preferably SAP)
o Strong understanding of logistic systems, automation technology, and integration processes
o Familiarity with compliance standards such as CE and UL_CA
o Hands-on mentality, proactive, and solution-oriented
o Team player (also in global teams)
o Hands-On
o Commercially driven
o Fluent in spoken and written English
o Willing to travel up to 20% of the time
