  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or a related degree with 7+ years of experience in the water and wastewater industry, including process design, performance analysis, or process engineering services for projects.
  • Experience with municipal wastewater systems is essential.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is desirable but not required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with leadership potential and familiarity with state-of-the-art industry practices and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Provide process engineering services on wastewater projects, primarily in Southern California, with potential travel to other parts of California, and collaborate on water and wastewater capital project teams.
  • Plan and execute projects, including defining approach and resource needs, options analysis, process and equipment design, engineering document development, and ownership through plan, design, procure, construct, and commissioning.
  • Apply expertise across conventional and advanced wastewater treatment processes, including conventional treatment, membrane bioreactors (MBR), reverse osmosis desalination, brackish water treatment, UV, and ozone.
  • Communicate project goals and results to senior management and stakeholders; contribute as a technical leader with minimal supervision and provide design expertise for conventional and advanced systems (membrane, biosolids, odor control, pumping, and blower systems).

Job Description:

Principal  Process Engineer – Wastewater Systems -  Los Angeles, CA

OPPORTUNITY :

The Wastewater Principal  Process Engineer provides technical leadership and project management accountability for process engineering in the delivery of capital projects and engineering services for wastewater treatment facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The qualified candidate will work effectively on water and wastewater engineering capital project teams, as well as other project related cross-functional teams with representatives from divisions throughout the organization.
  • Primary responsibility will be providing process engineering services on client        with projects mainly in Southern California but may involve travel to other parts of the State as well.

  • Experience in the planning and execution of projects: including project approach and resource needs, options analysis, process and equipment design, engineering document development, and system ownership through the project delivery phases of plan, design, procure, construct, and commissioning
  • Areas of expertise could include process experience for complex capital projects within the water and wastewater treatment, and water reuse, area including conventional wastewater treatment processes, membrane bioreactors (MBR), reverse osmosis desalination and brackish water treatment, UV, Ozone and other advanced water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • The senior project/process engineer is expected to be an effective communicator of ideas, project goals and results.  With minimal supervision, is expected to make presentations and updates to senior management and in broader forums both internal and external to Parsons.
  • Contributions are integral to the success of projects and the achievement of both technical and organizational objectives. Strong technical leadership, collaboration, and sound business value based prioritization and problem solving skills.
  • Travel may be required to meet business needs.

The successful candidate will also provide additional design expertise for conventional and advanced wastewater treatment systems, including membrane, biosolids, odor control, pumping, blower and various  systems.

                

REQUIREMENTS:       

  • B.S. in Civil /Environmental or Chemical / Engineering  or a related Degree with 7 + years or more in the water and wastewater industry of which involved process design, process performance analysis, or process engineering services for projects.
  • Experience with municipal wastewater systems is essential
  • Professional Engineer (PE)  registration is desirable, but not required 
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity with state-of-the art industry practices and regulations. 
  • Must also possess a solid knowledge of process technology

Salary Range: $100,900.00 - $176,600.00
