Job Title: Digital Accessibility Consultant
Duration: 5-6 Months
Location: Remote (CST Shift)
It is a part-time role with 20 hours per week.
Position Summary:
The Digital Accessibility Consultant will assess the accessibility of websites, applications, and online content against WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 compliance standards. The consultant will identify accessibility barriers, recommend remediations, and collaborate with design, development, and content teams to enhance accessibility and inclusivity for all users.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct WCAG 2.1/2.2 compliance assessments for websites and applications.
Identify and document accessibility barriers across web pages, mobile interfaces, and digital content.
Provide detailed audit reports highlighting non-compliance issues, prioritized recommendations, and best practices.
Collaborate with web developers and designers to support remediation efforts and ensure accessibility fixes are correctly implemented.
Utilize tools such as Deque Axe, Wave, JAWS, NVDA , and other accessibility testing platforms.
Offer expert guidance on HTML structure, ARIA roles, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility.
Support the development of accessibility testing scripts, workflows, and checklists for ongoing compliance monitoring.
Stay current on updates to WCAG standards, Section 508, and related accessibility legislation.
Participate in future WCAG assessment initiatives with clients for additional public and private sector clients.
Required Qualifications:
