Overview:

Reprocesses instruments using high level disinfection (HLD) or sterilization techniques according to manufacturers instructions for use (IFU). Work is completed in a collaborative, team based environment. Performs biological and chemical testing on HLD and sterilization equipment. Monitors instrument and supply inventory. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations. Demonstrates commitment to maintaining and improving departmental/unit standards of care and practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Reprocesses instruments for sterilization.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of sterile and nonsterile supplies for the department.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of surgical instruments.
  • Performs quality testing,as recommended per industry standard.
  • Performs secretary/clerical functions.
  • Follows regulatory standards ensuring a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.
Qualifications:
  • HS diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years experience 3 years experience as a sterile processing technician required.
  • One of the following: Certified Registered Central Service Technician, Certified Instrument Specialist required upon hire
  • Employees must obtain Certified Instrument Specialist or equivalent within 365 days
  • Employees must obtain Certified Registered Central Service Technician or equivalent within 365 days
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Required 1 Year
  • or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) Required 1 Year
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) Preferred

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $21.93/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home:

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
