Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Statistician II to support data-driven decision-making by independently applying statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize quantitative data. The Statistician II will work with minimal supervision and may contribute to specialized fields such as economic statistics or other applied domains.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct statistical analysis of fiscal execution programs.

     

  • Create optimization models for Reserve Component Management System-Guard (RCMS-G).

  • Provide input to Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and Budget Formulation for all MDEPs.
  • Develop and apply statistical techniques to analyze data and produce meaningful insights.
  • Design data collection methods and sampling techniques appropriate to specific research or business questions.
  • Interpret and communicate statistical findings through reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
  • Use software tools and statistical programming languages (e.g., R, SAS, Python, SPSS, or STATA) to manage and analyze data sets.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to define data requirements and analytical objectives.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance in all data analyses and reporting activities.
  • May assist in publishing findings or preparing technical documentation related to statistical work.
  • Stay current with emerging statistical methods and industry best practices.
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience in economic statistics, public policy analysis, health statistics, or other specialized domains.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Advanced coursework or certification in statistical methods, machine learning, or data analytics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Direct experience with finance for an HQ level military entity 3 yrs experience working for or supporting the National Guard Bureau.
  • At a minimum, a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or an equivalent or higher investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Federal Government programs or working in a Government/contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of domain-specific methodologies (e.g., econometrics, biostatistics, public health statistics).
  • Experience presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders or leadership.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually.
