As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of engineering and customer delivery. You will work directly with state governments and other public sector partners to design, build, and deploy solutions that solve real-world identity challenges. This role combines hands-on software development with consulting and customer success. You will represent SpruceID on the ground with our partners, ensuring our technology is deployed effectively and with lasting impact.

What You'll DoLead the design and development of products and solutions for state governments and enterprise customersWork side-by-side with customer delivery leads, engineers, and UX designers to ensure successful projects delivery and deploymentsTranslate customer requirements into technical architectures and working implementationsAct as a trusted technical advisor to public sector partners, guiding them through standards adoption and best practicesBuild backend software and full-stack web and mobile applications that meet public sector security, privacy, and accessibility standardsContribute to new and existing Rust codebases that run on backend services, mobile devices, and in the browserManage customer deployments and support operationsQualifications5+ years of experience shipping backend software in statically typed languages, such as C#, Rust, Go, or Java.Experience shipping modern web frontends that meet accessibility and security standardsProven ability to lead cross-functional engineering efforts and deliver production systemsHands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and devops practicesExcellent communication skills and experience working directly with customers, ideally in a consulting or delivery roleBased in the US and excited to engage directly with state government partnersBonus QualificationsStrong foundation in digital identity, cryptography, data privacy, or blockchainPrior experience working with public sector software projectsAt SpruceID, we value diversity of perspectives and backgrounds.
