Our client base is mostly in the DoD Federal Government Contracting space and we also partner with prime Government Contractors such as Siemens, Booz Allen, McKinsey and have work in the commercial space as well. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and results-oriented leader with a deep passion for Government contracting and a proven ability to drive growth in the defense sector, particularly within the United States Air Force (USAF). The ideal candidate is a collaborative innovator who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at building high-trust relationships with federal stakeholders and strategic partners, and is committed to advancing Sabel Digital Engineering initiatives. You should be a pro-active problem solver with a strong understanding of USAF mission, priorities, and procurement processes. Experience in digital engineering or logistics modernization within the DOD ecosystem is highly valued as is the ability to mentor operational teams, align with portfolio strategics and navigate complex capture landscapes.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead Business Development (BD) and Capture Strategies specifically tailored to USAF opportunities, identifying and pursuing contracts within the digital engineering ecosystem
  • Collaborating closely with Business Units leads to align BD strategies with portfolio capabilities, ensuring proposal solutions leverage Sabel’s core strengths and meet USAF mission needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key USAF decisions-makers, program offices, industry partners, and internal staff to expand Sabel’s footprint in the Air Force market
  • Conduct Market Analysis, competitive intelligence, and opportunity assessments, in partnership with Business Units to inform bid/no-bid decision and shape wining proposals.
  • Lead/Support Capture Management, including teaming agreements, proposal development within the USAF account, ensuring alignment with USAF requirements and Business Units needs
  • Track and report on pipeline development, win rates, and growth metrics, providing insights to Executive Leadership to support overall company strategy.
  • Represent Sabel Systems at industry events, conferences, and USAF – focused forums to enhance visibility and foster new business opportunities, coordinating with Business Units and other BD Directors to showcase Sabel’s relevant capabilities

Your Qualifications

Required

  • 10 + years of experience in business development or capture management with at least five years focused on USAF or DOD clients
  • Demonstrated success in winning USAF contracts, with a strong understanding of USAF acquisition processes, budgeting cycles, and mission areas.
  • Proven track record of building and managing high-value pipelines, including experience with GWACS, IDIQs, SBIRS, OTA, and CSOs
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence USAF stakeholders and align with internal Business until leads.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, and market intelligence platforms (e.g. GovWin).
  • Strong Leadership abilities with experience fostering cross-collaboration with Business Unit leaders.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to engage with USAF program offices, industry partners and internal teams.
