Key Responsibilities:
Program Development
- Participate actively in all scheduled Zoom sessions and workforce development training modules
- Provide continuous feedback and recommendations to improve program structure and content
- Collaborate with NYCID team to refine program delivery methods and materials
- Document experiences and insights to inform future program iterations
- Contribute to the development of resources and tools for subsequent participants
Professional Skill Development
- Master essential workforce competencies including professional communication, job search optimization, interview preparation, resume and cover letter writing, and strategic career planning
- Engage in hands-on learning experiences designed to build employer-desired skills
- Complete individual assignments and projects that demonstrate skill acquisition
- Participate in mock interviews, networking exercises, and professional development workshops
App Development Support
- Assist in the research and development of NYCID’s new mobile application
- Provide user experience feedback and suggestions for app functionality
- Contribute technical skills and creative input to enhance app design and usability
- Support beta testing processes and quality assurance activities
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to consistent attendance and full program participation
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback
- Reliable internet access and technology setup for virtual participation
- Availability for scheduled Zoom sessions during the 6-week program period
- Genuine interest in workforce development and helping other young New Yorkers
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills to balance scheduled sessions with independent work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with program development, feedback processes, or quality improvement initiatives
- Technical skills relevant to app development (coding, UI/UX design, testing, etc.)
- Leadership experience or involvement in youth-focused organizations
- Understanding of workforce development challenges facing young adults
- Creative problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking
- Complete a 1 paragraph interest statement in this virtual opportunity
Requirements:

- All work must be done in a timely matter
- All interns must have a computer or smartphone
- Interns are responsible for ensuring all work is completed to NYCID’s standards and seeking feedback from their colleagues and supervisors to promote an expectation of collaboration

Sunday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- There will be meetings that you will be required to attend.
