About the role

An AI research engineer is a specialized type of software engineer or data scientist focused on developing and implementing cutting-edge AI technologies. They bridge the gap between AI research and practical applications, working on developing new algorithms, models, and systems. Their work often involves designing, building, and testing AI solutions for various applications, including those in product development, automation, and data analysis.

What you’ll be doing

• Research and Development: Conduct research on new AI algorithms, models, and techniques to advance the state of the art.

• Model Development and Implementation: Design, build, and refine AI models leveraging machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.

• Data Management: Manage and preprocess large datasets, ensuring data quality for practical model training and testing.

• System Design and Integration: Develop and implement software systems that integrate AI models into real-world products and applications.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with researchers, product managers, and engineers to align AI initiatives with product goals.

• Productization: Transition research prototypes into production-ready solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  

What you’ll need

• Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript (Node.js, MEAN stack, Next.js, Nest.js, etc.) with the ability to write clean, efficient, and scalable code.
• Solid understanding of mathematics, including probability, calculus, and linear algebra, essential for developing and optimizing AI models. 
• Proficiency in algorithms and data structures, enabling efficient design and implementation of AI solutions. 
• Hands-on familiarity with machine learning concepts, frameworks, and techniques. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges in AI research and development. 
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and presentation of research findings.
