POSITION: Electrical/Instrumentation Project Estimators
JOB TYPE: Full Time (Remote)
SALARY/WAGE: $85,000 - $115,000/Year

JOB SUMMARY

The Agency is assisting in a confidential recruitment for a local company in the Grande Prairie region. We are seeking full time, remote Electrical/Instrumentation Project Estimators with industrial project estimating experience to join a dynamic and growing team.

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Electrical/Instrumentation Project Estimator will play a critical role in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for Oil & Gas and renewable projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical expertise, and the ability to interpret complex engineering documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Electrical/Instrumentation Project Estimator, you will:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate electrical and/or instrumentation cost estimates for Oil & Gas and renewable industrial projects with minimal supervision
  • Review and interpret project documentation, including P&IDs, blueprints, specifications, proposals, and drawings, to determine time, cost, and labour requirements
  • Assist with the development of tender strategies, analyze tender documents, and ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance
  • Relay estimating information to the Estimating Manager/Upper Management and provide administrative support as required
  • Support project teams throughout the life cycle, tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimates
  • Hand off completed estimates to the Construction Management Team upon contract award
  • Participate in post-project reviews to improve estimating accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of estimating procedures and databases (including Accubid)
  • Perform other estimating-related tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Journeyman Instrumentation Technician and/or Journeyman Electrician, or Instrumentation/Electrical Technologist Diploma required
  • Minimum 35 years of cost estimating experience in electrical and/or instrumentation within the Oil & Gas sector
  • 10+ years of combined field experience in electrical/instrumentation industrial Oil & Gas projects
  • Proficiency in Accubid Estimating Software (minimum 35 years) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong ability to interpret engineered drawings, P&IDs, and Instrument Indexes
  • Experience preparing construction schedules based on cost estimates
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
