JOB DESCRIPTION

Green Dot Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the SBTPG Team, focusing on building scalable, secure, and resilient systems that support consumer tax-related financial services and partner integrations. This role will contribute to technical leadership and innovation in SBTPG operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop backend services and APIs to support SBTPG platform operations including tax refund processing, partner onboarding, and compliance workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Security, and Infrastructure to ensure seamless deployment and performance of SBTPG tools.
  • Contribute to technical initiatives that improve CI/CD workflows, observability, and platform reliability.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure SLA adherence and rapid incident response.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions that meet regulatory and operational standards.



Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a technical lead role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience acceptable.
  • Proficiency in several languages/platforms/libraries such as C#, .NET, SQL Server, RabbitMQ, Redis etc.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, OAuth2, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration, release automation, and platform observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus).
  • Experience implementing secure coding practices and compliance workflows in regulated environments.
  • Strong analytical, multitasking, and organizational skills to manage testing on multiple projects.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and concepts using JIRA or similar Agile tools.
  • Understanding of secure development processes in regulated environments (e.g. PCI DSS, SOC 2)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fintech or tax-related financial services.
  • Familiarity with consumer tax payment processing domains such as refund disbursement, partner onboarding, etc.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical publications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, regulated environments.

PAY RANGE

The targeted base salary for this position is $139,900 to $199,300 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
