The Role

We are looking for a Backend Java Engineer to join our growing engineering team and help power the next generation of our equity crowdfunding platform. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a modern cloudbased environment and enjoys building scalable, secure, and highly available systems.

You will be responsible for architecting and delivering backend services that leverage AWS, containerization, microservices, APIs, and RDS databases. You’ll work closely with our product leaders, frontend developers, and other engineers to deliver features that help entrepreneurs raise capital and investors access exciting opportunities.

What Youll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in JavaSpring Boot.
  • Develop and scale microservices deployed in containers (DockerKubernetes).
  • Architect and optimize data solutions using AWS RDS (PostgreSQLMySQL).
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and security across cloudbased systems.
  • Implement efficient CICD pipelines for deploying and monitoring services.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to turn product requirements into technical solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.

  • What Were Looking For
  • 3+ years of professional backend development experience (Java preferred).
  • MUST live and work in the United States.
  • Strong handson experience with AWS services (ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in building and scaling RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong background with relational databases and data modeling (preferably RDS with PostgreSQLMySQL).
  • Knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.

  • Bonus Points If You Have
  • Experience in FinTech, payments, or compliancedriven industries.
  • Familiarity with eventdriven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
  • Exposure to GraphQL or gRPC.
  • Contributions to opensource or personal projects that show off backend expertise.
