ResiQuant is revolutionizing how the world understands the built environment exposed to natural disasters. From earthquakes to wildfires and hurricanes, the impact of climate change and urbanization is intensifying—and yet, decisionmakers are forced to rely on fragmented, static, and often inaccurate property data.
That changes with ResiQuant. We are building the worlds first agentic AI that fuses structural engineering with advanced computer vision to transform the worlds NatCatexposed industries, starting with the $200B property insurance industry. Our platform automates submission processing and enriches data, enabling insurers to elevate underwriting precision and productivity.
Trusted by leading US property insurers, ResiQuant serves as the definitive source of property intelligence—ensuring that portfolios dynamically reflect evolving building codes, ordinances, and local construction practices, providing actionable insights for informed decisionmaking.
Fueled by an unrelenting focus on protecting lives, property, and livelihoods, ResiQuant is building the future of property risk intelligence at a time when it has never been more crucial.
Youre a designer obsessed with the details—not for the sake of polish alone, but because you understand that every interaction, every piece of friction, every micromoment adds up to trust. You believe that the right design can change how an entire industry thinks, operates, and makes decisions.
At ResiQuant, thats the opportunity in front of you.
Were building the AI that will reshape how the world understands physical risk—starting with our growing base of toptier insurance carriers. These are not casual users. Theyre executives, underwriters, and catastrophe modeling teams making highstakes decisions about coverage, pricing, and exposure across trillions of dollars in assets. Theyre moving fast. They need clarity. And they will judge the quality of our insights by the quality of the interface.
As our first and founding product designer, youll be responsible for how this all feels—from the information architecture that guides a new underwriter, to the animations that bring a portfolio risk shift to life. Youll take technically complex data and render it simple, elegant, and actionable. Youll create AIdriven workflows that feel obvious and intuitive—because youve sweat the edge cases, asked the hard questions, and rebuilt it until it was right.
This isnt a role for someone looking to maintain or refine—its for someone who wants to define: the design system, the product sensibility, and the visual identity of a categorydefining AI platform. Youll own the surface area of the company—from product to brand to web—and build the design standards others will follow.
This is design not as decoration, but as direction.
Own endtoend user experience design—from problem definition to shipped feature
Map complex AI workflows for underwriting into intuitive, progressive interactions
Design product experiences across onboarding, dashboards, workflows, reports, notifications, and more
Rapidly prototype and test design hypotheses with internal teams and insurance end users
Define interaction patterns, state logic, edge cases, and UX documentation for engineering handoff
Build and maintain a scalable componentbased design system in Figma
Design data visualizations, iconography, and interface patterns for clarity, speed, and trust
Shape the companys visual identity across product, website, presentations, sales enablement, and social
Own and enforce visual consistency across all digital and physical brand touchpoints
Create design standards, guidelines, and quality controls for future contributors
Partner closely with engineering to define specs, implementation flows, and QA feedback loops
Collaborate with founders and sales on roadmap planning and user story definition
Establish internal design review, feedback, and documentation workflows
Define future team processes as we scale: design sprints, critiques, research cadence, etc.
Guide (and eventually hirementor) junior designers, contract contributors, and creative partners
5+ years of experience in UXUI design, preferably for datarich, enterprise, or B2B SaaS products
Portfolio that shows fullstack ownership: user flows, wireframes, polished UIs, and live product screenshots
Mastery of Figma and modern design systems practices
Demonstrated success designing interfaces for technical or multirole users (e.g., dashboards, workflows, analytics, or internal tools)
Strong UX writing instincts—clear labels, human copy, and helpful guidance throughout workflows
Experience conducting or leveraging user research and customer feedback to drive design decisions
Highly comfortable collaborating directly with engineers, founders, and sales
Comfort designing and managing marketing websites (especially in Webflow or Framer)
Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area
Experience with data visualization design or financial modeling UIs
Prior startup or 0→1 product experience
Brand design, iconography, or motioninteraction craft
Passion for AI, risk, resilience, climate tech, or insurance innovation
Obsessive care for interaction quality—how things respond, behave, load, and inform
Proven ability to work through ambiguity and find signal fast
Youve owned design systems that scaled across multiple product surfaces
Youve worked with technical, analytical user bases and designed for speed, accuracy, and trust
You think like a PM when prioritizing—and like an engineer when collaborating
You want to define a new category—not inherit someone elses
You care about systems thinking, longterm scalability, and design as leverage
Youre energized by working on hard, realworld problems with visible impact
You care deeply about building tools that make people smarter and more resilient
You believe design isnt just part of the product—it is the product
You will define the brand, the design system, and the product experience that shape how trillions of dollars in property risk are assessed, priced, and managed across the insurance industry.
You will help create an entirely new category of structural risk intelligence—combining deep science, AI, and design into tools that change how organizations build climate resilience.
You will see your work live fast. The experiences you design will be used by underwriters, executives, and modeling teams at toptier insurance carriers making realworld decisions every day.
You will work on problems that matter. Every workflow you shape and every insight you clarify will directly support smarter decisions about what gets insured, how portfolios are managed, and where resilience is most urgently needed.
You will join a worldclass team. ResiQuant is founded by Stanford PhDs and built by engineers, researchers, and domain experts at the intersection of structural engineering, machine learning, and disaster risk.
You will earn meaningful equity and play a foundational role in a venturebacked company with real customers, fast momentum, and enormous upside.
Your days at ResiQuant will move fast—because the problem space demands it. Youll be embedded with engineers, collaborating on rapid product iterations and shipping new interfaces at a weekly cadence. Youll work directly with founders and senior stakeholders, shaping roadmap priorities and translating vision into user experience with clarity and precision.
Youll be handson in Figma, refining flows, evolving the design language, and pushing forward on the details that elevate trust—from information hierarchy to visual polish. Youll interact regularly with our insurance customers, observing how your designs impact real decisions made by underwriters, executives, and catastrophe modelers.
Your scope wont stop at the product. Youll also own the design continuity across the company—from the marketing site to internal decks to our social presence—ensuring every touchpoint reflects the quality, credibility, and clarity our users expect.
Youll see the impact of your work quickly, track its performance, and iterate with urgency. The environment is highly collaborative, deeply technical, and outcomesdriven. Youll be the steward of our design system and the advocate for our users—helping define not just what gets built, but how it feels to use, and how it reflects who we are.
