Job description

The Safety Manager reports directly to the Safety Director and plays a key role in supporting the development, implementation, and execution of multiple Texas Maintenance Services projects. This position focuses on ensuring safety compliance across various projects, standardizing safety procedures and documentation, and fostering a culture of safety through training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Safety Manager will work closely with site personnel to maintain a safe working environment while adhering to industry regulations and company policies.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Safety Oversight & Hazard Mitigation:

      • Conduct daily observation of project activities to ensure all work is performed safely, in compliance with customer, governmental, and corporate safety requirements.
      • Identify job hazards and highrisk behaviors and assist project teams in implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
      • Manage site safety, including incident investigation, first aid treatment, corrective actions, and reporting.
      • Perform regular site visits and audits to assess safety performance, identify hazards, and address safety concerns.
        • · Safety Documentation & Data Management:

              • Manage the standardization of all safety documentation, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for Texas region work. Ensure they are accessible via SharePoint.
              • Develop and maintain a comprehensive worksheet of customer sites, including emergency contact details for approved eye care clinics, urgent care centers, and hospitals.
                • · Safety Training & Certification:

                      • Perform OSHArequired training for employees, such as Confined Space,LockoutTagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HazCom), and Fall Protection.
                      • Organize and facilitate safety training sessions, and other related training.
                      • Ensure that training records and certifications (such as CHST, OSHA 500, First Aid, CPR) are maintained and up to date.
                      • Develop and implement safety observation programs to encourage proactive safety measures across job sites.
                        • · Project Safety Oversight:

                              • Manage safety operations for assigned MS projects in Texas, ensuring consistent safety practices across all sites.
                              • Take responsibility for managing safety at specific projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance and continuous safety monitoring for the duration of the project.
                                • · Incident & Emergency Management:

                                      • Provide incident management, including accident investigation, documentation, and corrective action support.
                                      • Ensure that safety permits and other emergency documentation are properly maintained and easily accessible.
                                      • Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for repetitive tasks on customer sites and ensure they are readily available.
                                        • · Safety Audits & Continuous Improvement:

                                              • Audit job sites to identify training needs and areas for improvement in safety compliance.
                                                • Requirements

                                                  • Experience:
                                                    • 57 years of safety management experience in construction or industrial environments.
                                                      • Certifications:
                                                        • CHST requirement
                                                        • OSHA 500 and 510
                                                        • Completion of OSHA 30Hour Construction Safety Training (or equivalent) required prior to hire or within 30 days of onboarding.
                                                        • NCCCO Rigger Level I certification preferred; candidates without current certification may be considered if willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
                                                        • Other safetyrelated certifications such as First Aid, and CPR preferred.
                                                          • Skills & Abilities:
                                                            • Strong decisionmaking and problemsolving skills.
                                                            • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
                                                            • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
                                                            • Ability to lead and train teams on safety practices and protocols.
                                                            • Strong organizational skills, especially in document management and process standardization.
                                                                • Physical Demands:

                                                                  • Frequent standing and walking.
                                                                  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
                                                                  • Regular site visits requiring the ability to climb, bend, and perform other physical activities.
                                                                    • Work Environment:

                                                                      • Exposure to construction environments, including extreme temperatures, dust, and noise.
