Job description

About SDS

At SDS, we are passionate about creating innovative software that empowers housing providers to build stronger, more efficient communities. For over 30 years, we have been supporting housing providers, local authorities and developers with software solutions and consultancy services.

We believe in empowering organisations with the tools they need to manage housing development, compliance, and financial planning with confidence.

If you share our dedication to excellence and innovation, we’d love to have you on board!

About the role

We’re looking for a highenergy, resultsdriven Business Development Manager who thrives in the chase—someone who loves opening doors, cracking new markets, and winning new logos. You’ll lead and execute a highimpact lead generation and acquisition strategy focused on driving growth across two of our core solutions Landval and Homematch. Landval enables housing providers to appraise land and assess viability with speed and confidence, while Homematch connects affordable housing providers with prospective buyers and tenants through a smart, datadriven platform. You’ll shape the gotomarket approach for both products and play a key role in delivering new business and revenue growth across the housing development lifecycle.

Requirements

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a highimpact outbound sales strategy to consistently generate and convert leads into new business.
  • Own the full sales cycle—from cold outreach and discovery to pitching, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Identify and engage new sectors and markets, especially those with grantgiving capabilities, including international territories.
  • Build a strong pipeline of qualified prospects through proactive lead generation and strategic outreach.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to finetune messaging, campaigns, and targeting strategies.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and competitor activity to continuously uncover new opportunities.
  • Track, measure, and optimise performance metrics focused on new customer acquisition and revenue targets.
    • Experience and Skills:

      We’re looking for someone with:

      • 35 years of experience in business development, sales or a similar role, with a proven track record of closing new business in a SaaS or tech driven environment.
      • Handson experience in outbound sales, cold prospecting, and pipeline development.
      • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
      • Strategic thinker who’s also a selfstarter—able to thrive independently and hit ambitious growth targets.
      • Experience breaking into new verticals or international markets is highly desirable.
      • Proficient with CRM systems and comfortable with datadriven decisionmaking.
      • Experience in the grantgiving or nonprofit space is a bonus but not essential.
        • Personal Characteristics

We’d love to hear from you if you’re:

          • A natural hunter—motivated by targets, competition, and the thrill of the close.
          • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to build something new and scale it fast.
          • Highly accountable, organised, and results focused.
          • Communicates with clarity, confidence, and professionalism.
          • Operates with integrity, transparency, and a growthoriented mindset.
            • Benefits

              Here’s what we offer:

              · Competitive base salary.

              · Commission structure for customer growth and retention contributions.

              · Workplace pension scheme with employer contribution.

              · Private Healthcare coverage through Aviva Health (including Mental Health Support).

              · Life assurance (4x your salary).

              · 25 days annual leave, plus 8 UK bank holidays.

              · Sick pay and compassionate leave policies

              · Fully Remote working

              · Professional development opportunities and attendance at industry events

              · Internal leadership development opportunities

At SDS, we are committed to fostering a culture that supports growth, flexibility, and a great worklife balance. Join us in making an impact.

The closing date for this role is 18th August 2025
