Key responsibilities:

  • Design civil infrastructure for deep underground Small Modular Reactors, including access shafts and surface structures.
  • Conduct geotechnical assessments and design drainage and water control systems.
  • Coordinate structural design with mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ensure civil designs comply with seismic, safety, and environmental standards.

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Civil Engineer (3616).

Location Notice: This is a remote position.

Duration: Work is estimated to last 3 to 6 months but may go longer. .

Responsibilities:

  • Design civil infrastructure supporting deep underground Small Modular Reactor’s: access shafts, surface support structures, earth retention, drainage systems.
  • Conduct geotechnical assessments and design drainage and water control around shafts.
  • Coordinate structural design with mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ensure civil designs meet seismic, safety, and environmental requirements.
    • Requirements

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (geotechnical or structural focus preferred).
      • 5+ years with nuclear facility civil design.
      • Knowledgeable in geotechnical engineering, structural design (AISCAASHTO), and drainage.
      • Experience with DOE, NRC, or analogous regulatory frameworks.
        • Preferred Qualifications:

          • Licensed Professional Engineer
            • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements andor clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
