Job description

Fourier is building the future of onsite Hydrogen. Our breakthrough architecture enables highly modular, fully automated Hydrogen systems that scale to any size and maintain optimal efficiency across all loads. Our mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable, emissionfree energy.

As part of our global growth, Fourier is expanding into India—establishing a key development center that will play a critical role in product engineering, prototyping, and future manufacturing. India will be central to our global supply chain and will evolve into a vital hub for innovation, deployment, and scale. With its rising demand for clean energy and growing industrial base, India also represents one of the most important longterm markets for hydrogenbased energy resilience.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Managing Director to lead Fourier’s India office. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with significant ownership over technical direction, team building, and organizational development.

You’ll work at the intersection of engineering innovation and company strategy—building a team, driving technical execution, and helping us deliver nextgen Hydrogen systems to market while working towards our longterm vision of Energy Resilience

Roles and responsibilities
  • Build a worldclass engineering organization in India from the ground up—hire top talent, establish core processes, and shape a highperformance, missionaligned culture.

  • Lead Fourier India’s engineering organization and play a critical role in companywide product strategy and execution.

  • Partner with the U.S. team to define and implement architectural and design directions for our electrolyzer systems.

  • Oversee hardware and software development including test stands, fabrication, and stack subsystems.

  • Work with and be a part of Fourier’s leadership team to own the product development from early prototyping through latestage manufacturing.

  • Provide technical oversight and handson leadership to accelerate development velocity.

  • Manage and report on engineering budgets, timelines, and resourcing.

  • Support vendor and supplier management including contract negotiation and sourcing of critical components.

  • Actively contribute to building Fourier’s collaborative and peoplefirst culture across India and the U.S.

    • Qualifications
      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science or related Engineering disciplines.

      • Experience leading a global technical team preferably in the USIndia corridor and working with global suppliers and customers

      • 10+ years of experience leading teams, with directorlevel (or higher) responsibilities.

      • Proven success managing 15+ engineers and scaling highperformance teams from the ground up.

      • Deep experience in building and launching industrialgrade hardware systems.

      • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering problems in the energy sector.

      • Prior experience in manufacturing and scaling complex systems.
Skilled in hiring, mentoring, and developing senior leaders and managers.

      • Strong command of Indian HR practices, including compensation, performance management, and employee relations.

      • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational influence—especially across geographies.

      • Experience in vendor management, sourcing, and contract negotiations is a plus.

        • What we offer
          • Competitive salary & equity

          • Comprehensive benefits

          • A collaborative and inclusive work environment

          • The opportunity to shape the future of clean energy and grow with a missiondriven team
