Job Description

We are seeking a detailoriented and analytical Remote Accounting Assistant to join our team based in Hønefoss, Norway. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Norwegian regulations, and supporting various accounting functions.

  • Handle monthly bookkeeping and financial reporting for the organization
  • Manage transactions across multiple currencies (NOK, EUR, USD)
  • Prepare annual tax returns and financial statements in compliance with Norwegian regulations
  • Reconcile accounts across various payment platforms (e.g., PayPal, AdSense)
  • Process and record approximately 100150 transactions annually
  • Utilize Wave accounting software for daily operations
  • Provide tax compliance guidance for both Norwegian and international operations
  • Perform accurate bookkeeping tasks, including proper recording of expenses and income
  • Collaborate with team members using online communication tools
  • Support financial analysis and reporting to aid decisionmaking processes
  • Maintain organized digital files and ensure data accuracy across all financial records
  • Adapt to new accounting software and technologies as needed
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
    • Qualifications
      • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field, with professional accounting qualification
      • Proven experience with Norwegian tax regulations and reporting requirements
      • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Norwegian is a plus
      • Experience with digital businesses, international transactions, and multicurrency accounting
      • Strong familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Wave, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office suite
      • Indepth knowledge of GAAP and Norwegian accounting standards
      • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy in work
      • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a remote setting
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
      • Adaptability to new technologies and processes
      • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
      • Experience with elearning or digital service businesses is preferred
