Sr. Technical Consultants are experienced experts in information security andor information security governance or compliance. Successful candidates support the Security and Compliance Practice in Delivery, Business Development, and Practice Development.
Sr. Technical Consultants collaborate with a diverse team of consultants with varying skills to meet and exceed client expectations through scoped engagements. They effectively support client engagements onsite or remotely by guiding engagements toward scoped objectives and troubleshooting to effectively resolve project risks or issues. Sr. Consultants contribute to engagements by executing the necessary project tasks, producing expected collateral, and presenting artifacts at any time throughout an engagement.
Sr. Technical Consultants can also support business development activities alongside a sales specialist to help qualify client needs and expectations, or more specifically to demonstrate a capability or skillset. They may be directly engaged in clientfacing interactions to identify client needs and to produce andor present sales proposals.
Lastly, AHEAD Sr. Technical Consultants also leverage their visibility and experience to contribute to the continuous improvement and maturation of inpractice service offerings and capabilities by proposing ideas for change and executing on ideas that are committed. This includes positively impacting our service portfolio and individuals on the team through thought leadership and mentorship.
Responsibilities
Client Delivery
Facilitate sessions of strategy, roadmap, design, and planning workshops for medium to large service engagements
Ensure that customer expectations are appropriately set and managed
Lead project engagement teams through the delivery of consulting service offerings
Drive and manage the objectives, requirements gathering, project tasksmilestone, project status, dependencies, and timelines, to ensure engagements are delivered successfully and on time while meeting the business objectives
Breaks down risks or issues into manageable segments, identifies the factors that affect a problem and determine how best to approach
Creation and finalization of project deliverables, may perform peer review for collateral developed by others on a delivery team
Presentation of deliverables to client executive management
Knowledge of AHEAD’s project lifecycle management activities to effectively support delivery engagements throughout the duration of a project
Act as the Engagement Lead on customer facing projects, when assigned
Business Development
Support business development pursuits through client discovery meetings
Represent service offerings during the sales cycle, including project scoping, proposal development, and presenting proposals to clients
Knowledge of AHEAD’s sales management lifecycle to effectively support sales opportunities throughout the duration of a proposal
Assist Principal Consultants with engagement scoping and the creation of proposal collateral
Familiarity with AHEAD’s enterprise service portfolio to identify opportunities for crosspractice collaboration
Practice Development & Thought Leadership
Maintain subject matter expertise in a minimum of eight security domains or three security solutions
Participate in the development, enhancement, and standardization of AHEAD inpractice service offerings
Owns andor enables more than one service capability
Processfocused technology thought leader and evangelist
Maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of current and future state IT trends, technologies, and standards
Lend support and mentorship to others
KnowledgeSkillsAbilities
Cloud Security Architecture & Risk Strategy:
Proven experience in reviewing and implementing secure cloud reference architectures and landing zones.
Ability to translate risk strategy by mapping traditional liftandshift approaches into cloudnative security controls.
Strong understanding of multicloud governance models, including InfrastructureasCode (IaC), policyascode (PaC), tagging standards, and multiaccount strategies.
CNAPP Tooling:
5+ years of combined handson experience with CNAPP tools, particularly Wiz and Prisma Cloud.
Expertise in integrating Wiz and Prisma Cloud with enterprise tooling such as ServiceNow, CICD pipelines, and ticketingalerting workflows.
Able to clearly and concisely communicate WizPrisma outputs (criticality, risk, remediation) to technical and business stakeholders.
Strong track record in deploying and instantiating Prisma Cloud.
Cloud Platforms & Native Security Controls:
5+ years of experience working with AWS, Azure, andor GCP.
Familiarity with cloudnative security services such as AWS Security Hub, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Google Security Command Center.
Handson knowledge of cloud identity (IAM, Federation, RBAC) across multicloud environments.
Familiarity with IDaaS solutions such as Okta and Entra ID.
Security Frameworks & Governance:
Strong knowledge of security standards and frameworks: CIS Benchmarks, NIST, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, GDPR.
Ability to design and map cloudspecific controls for audit and compliance needs.
Experience with SIEM integration (Splunk, Sentinel, Chronicle) and cloudnative detection capabilities.
Automation, IaC & Container Security:
Ability to read, understand, and apply InfrastructureasCode (Terraform, Bicep, AWS CloudFormation).
Familiarity with policyascode tooling (OPA, Sentinel) and IaC scanning in CICD pipelines.
Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate security tasks.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and securing workloads at scale.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Computer Sciences or Business Management preferred, but not required
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
7+ years consulting experience, or commensurate work experience
2 professional andor technical certifications, including industryrecognized certifications which align to AHEAD’s Security service portfolio
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
