This role is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal or the U.K.

Your Mission
As a Senior Financial Accountant at YAZIO, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our financial operations organized, compliant and scalable as we continue to grow across international markets. From recording invoices and reconciling accounts to supporting month-end and year-end closes and preparing tax filings, you'll ensure our financial data is timely, accurate and aligned with relevant regulations and accounting standards.

But you won’t just be crunching numbers. You’ll think beyond daily execution, refining and evolving our internal controls, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve operational gaps and helping build finance processes that support a fast-growing, digital-first business. You’ll work closely with banks, auditors and tax advisors while using and refining our accounting tech tooling to boost efficiency and keep our financial engine running smoothly.
Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in a high-growth digital business (apps, SaaS, tech)

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with solid experience in German GAAP and tax law (familiarity with international accounting standards like IFRS and/or US-GAAP is a plus)

  • Accounting tool proficiency with hands-on experience with DATEV and modern AP/AR tools like Spendesk (proficiency with ERP systems like  NetSuite is a plus)

  • Excellent Excel skills and the ability to analyze and interpret financial data effectively

  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and internal control frameworks

  • Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and workflow optimization

  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional precision, reliability and attention to detail

  • Degree in accounting, finance or a related field or certified training (e.g. tax clerk). Work experience in an accounting or audit firm is a plus.

  • Fluent in English and German with excellent written communication skills
