Product Generalist

Help shape, scope, and ship software with pace and precision

The Role: Product Generalist

This is a hands-on delivery role that blends Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, and Product Owner functions. Youll sit at the center of one or more engineering squadsdriving clarity, pace, and quality from planning to ship. You'll gather requirements, write specs, manage the backlog, run Agile rituals, and remove blockers. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and users to ensure fast and focused delivery of impactful work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day delivery across one or more engineering squads
  • Run Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Manage and refine the backlog in Linear (prioritise, clean, and progress work)
  • Scope work with PMs and engineers and define "what good looks like"
  • Gather requirements and write clear, well-scoped specification documents
  • Incorporate customer feedback to inform priorities
  • Drive focus by identifying what matters most and eliminating distractions
  • Identify and mitigate delivery risks early
  • Coach engineers on delivery, estimation, and Agile best practices
  • Provide regular progress updates to leadership
  • Support performance management through feedback and coaching

About You

  • 3+ years of experience in a product delivery, operations, or Agile role in a startup/scale-up
  • Strong background in delivery (Product Owner, Delivery Manager, or Product Ops)
  • Excellent communicator, clear, structured, and persuasive
  • Skilled at breaking down ambiguity into actionable specs and tickets
  • Confident running Agile rituals and leading team rhythms
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused
  • Strong prioritisation and follow-through skills

Bonus Points

  • Experience in directly managing engineers
  • Active use of AI tools in your workflow
  • Product management or product ops background
  • Experience with distributed or remote engineering teams
