Senior Frontend Developer (React) (Remote from Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland, France and Austria)

We currently connect over twothirds of all German hospitals with more than 650 rehabilitation clinics, and over 25,000 care and homecare providers. With around 70 employees, we are continuing to grow and are looking for people with the right attitude who want to improve the healthcare system alongside us.

An example:

When patients need to go to a rehabilitation clinic after a hospital stay, hospital staff currently need to find an available rehabilitation clinic offering the services that the patient needs (generally done over the phone or via fax (yes, fax…).

With our solution, hospital staff simply need to import all the relevant information in our platform using a software integration. They can then communicate in a secure way (endtoend encryption) with the patients after care providers. A search is started to find a relevant spot in our network of rehabilitation clinics. Patient data and files are transparently and securely exchanged with the relevant parties along the way.
This is just an example for rehabilitation, but we also cover nursing homes, home care and medical supplies. Our product combines a SaaS and a marketplace to automate timeintensive tasks, and let hospital staff focus on their patients rather than processes.

And now, in the next step, we’re going far beyond our core business, aiming to eliminate bureaucracy and media in hospitals with a whole portfolio of AI products.

What youll work on

Hospital processes are becoming more and more complex, and bringing change is very hard but we are not afraid:). Youll work on enhancing our patient transfer product to help more and more patients find the best place after their hospital stay. We have an ambitious roadmap and the product is going to change seriously over the coming months we need to support more types of discharges, integrate more and deeper with hospital systems. Sending and receiving data using endtoend encryption mechanisms is also a very big part of our stack. We are also working on some new products that will have a strong impact on German healthcare we can talk about it on a video call if youre interested!

We also have more technical features that are a big part of our pipeline our solution provides endtoend encryption to let health care actors communicate securely over a chat and share patient data, both through our apps and with very cool external API integrations.

Tech Stack:

• TypeScript Our entire frontend codebase is in Typescript. We believe a strongly typed codebase solves a lot of problems preemptively. We also use ESLint and Prettier so most of the coding guidelines are automated.

• React Our apps are clientside rendered SPAs with React, and we work almost exclusively with hooks.

• React Native for a native app (both Android & iOS).

• Apollo, a GraphQL proxy to handle data fetching and caching on the clientside (Backend is still a REST API).

• MaterialUI and styledcomponents. Our designers use Figma.

• Storybook for component and story based development.

• Webpack 5 and Babel for bundling and transpilation, with some parts migrated to Vite and SWC.

• CIDevOps CircleCI runs utest and integration jest tests, visual regression tests (inhouse), e2e tests (cypress) and automated code analysis (SonarCloud). Its also used to deploy to our various environments.

• We dedicate some of our time to work on non business tasks, it means for instance:

  • to migrate our frontend to a monorepo structure powered by Lerna and Yarn Workspaces for easier interop between modules than can be developed independently, and easier spawning of new projects with different tech stacks (we have a React Native application for example).

  • to continuously optimize the frontend code (our customers are using old computers unfortunately).

  • to build a visual regression tool to detect automatic changes in our product.

  • to automate the internationalization processes.

  • to migrate Jest to SWC for faster unit tests.

  • to migrate Storybook to Vite for faster local development.

  • Our philosophy is that developers are owners of the code they write until it gets to production. We rely a lot on automated tests to ensure everything stays stable the rule is that code could be deployed at any time manual QA is only involved in new feature validation.
