Senior Full Stack Engineer

thatgamecompany is looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to support our flagship title Sky: Children of the Light, by developing applications to facilitate game operation functions. Our internallydeveloped applications are a fundamental capability enabling our company to liveoperate Sky: Children of Light with millions of active users generating terabytes of data per day.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will report to the Lead Full Stack Engineer, developing software for applications that support internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Identify issues and create solutions independently, understanding how to complete a task from start to finish

• Participate in brainstorming sessions to design and document features with scalability in mind

• Build backend API and frontend components and pages with strong knowledge of Node JS, Next JS, and SQL

• Meet with individual team members and the full ITS team weekly to discuss progress and ideas

• Interact with different departments of the company to discover and address problems and needs

• Contribute to thatgamecompany’s unique culture and vision

• Key Qualifications

  Professional Experience

  • 4+ years of professional programming experience

  • Experience building modern REST APIs in Node.js

  • Experience with writing Typescript packages

  • Experience using modern frontend Javascript frameworks (e.g., React, Next, Hooks)

  • Experience designing data structures and querying relational and nonrelational database technologies such as Postgresql, Redis, MongoDB, etc.

  • Experience with Git version control system

  • Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS and Google Cloud

  • ProblemSolving

    • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach to dynamic challenges

    • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment involving crossfunctional and multidisciplinary teams

    • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes

    • Bonus Points

      • Experience developing with Python and Go

      • Experience with Google Cloud Project, Datadog, Prometheus, Serverless, CICD, Gitlab, Kubernetes, Terraform

          The salary range for this position is $95,000 USD to $177,000 USD annually, with the opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
