Job description

CSI Recruiting is working with a Fort Worth-based independent E&P company in need of a talented Reservoir Engineer / New Ventures Engineer to focus on Asset Acquisitions and development projects within the company's current asset base.

Our client is a small, privately-held, entrepreneurial-minded company focused on proactively acquiring and developing oil and gas assets.  This exciting company employs approximately 100 employees, and prides itself on the promotion of a culture hungry for growth.

The company is continuing to experience steady growth in production volumes and profitability, and is now looking for an experienced Reservoir Engineer / New Ventures Engineer who possesses a strong technical skill set in asset evaluations and opportunity identification.  An entrepreneurial mindset and enjoyment of a fast-paced, collaborative working environment are key.

Given the company’s encouragement of a tight-knit culture free of political dynamics, an ability to be creative will be just as important as technical capabilities, as will a schedule of primarily in-office work in Fort Worth, with some optional in office / work from home days.

Requirements
RESPONSIBLITIES:

Duties include traditional reservoir engineering, evaluation of resource plays, estimation of reserves and economic analysis of potential areas.   This senior new ventures engineer will work with the company's robust geosciences team to evaluate reservoir parameters based on well logs, production data, pressure data and other well information.  Strong technical acumen and industry knowledge in the M&A space will be equally important.

Additional Key Duties:
  • Generate estimates for reserves and economics for proposed new wells and exploration projects for AFE purposes
  • Work with senior management to identify and quantify the benefits and risks of exploration/development plans or acquisition opportunities
  • Be involved in strategy meetings with outside stakeholders, investors and financial institutions, delivering presentations and fielding pertinent questions related to current assets and acquisition opportunities
  • As part of the company's business development functions, evaluate and screen potential acquisition opportunities, visit data rooms, meet with potential partners, and deliver opinions to senior management on deal value
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil industry, focused on working as a reservoir engineer within a domestic, onshore-focused operator.
  • Experience with acquisition evaluations, M&A, deal flow, and business development functions within an active E&P environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Able to manage meetings with high-level stakeholders and partners.
  • Current experience with unconventional resource plays, preferably in the Permian Basin and/or in the Eagle Ford play.
  • Experience with Aries, Spotfire, and Excel is strongly preferred.
