Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

As an early engineer at Sift, you won’t just write code—you’ll help define the architecture, shape the product, and influence the culture of a company focused on solving real engineering problems. In This Role, Youll:

• Build and maintain full stack features across our web application and data processing backend for complex telemetry data

• Create intuitive user interfaces for data exploration while optimizing for large realtime datasets

• Implement efficient APIs and data access patterns for realtime data streaming

• Collaborate with data platform and frontend teams on service design and implementation

• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in technical design discussions
  

• The Skillset Youll Bring:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in fullstack software development

  • Experience building production applications with technologies like React, NextJS, TypeScript, Go, Rust, and Python

  • Familiarity with relational and nonrelational databases, e.g. PostgreSQL, Druid, Pinot, Timescale, or similar

  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail
    

  • Bonus Points:

    • Experience with technical visualization tools (WebGL, D3.js, Apache ECharts) and timeseries data

    • Knowledge of WebAssembly and browserbased computation

    • Background in scientific computing or technical data visualization

    • Experience building tools for technical users (dashboards, dataediting environments)

    • Built and launched side projects with consistent usage traffic

      Engineering At Sift:

      Youll have the opportunity to help evolve and scale our platform because were still in the early stages of building the product. Relevant technologies include:

      • Web frontend & backend: ECharts, Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Protobuf, Radix, React, Redux, and TypeScript

      • Data: Arrow, DataFusion, Flink, Parquet, and Rust

      • Infrastructure: Argo CD, AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, Grafana, Kubernetes, Kustomize, Linux, Prometheus, and Terragrunt
        

      • Location:

        The Sift team is based in El Segundo, CA, and we collaborate in person twice a week—Mondays and Thursdays. We work closely with LA’s leading hardware companies, from autonomous vehicle manufacturers to spacecraft builders. Proximity matters for site visits and deep collaboration, so we prefer candidates local to Los Angeles. We are open to relocation and for exceptional talent we’re open to remote work from the San Francisco Bay Area.

        Salary range: $170,000 $220,000 per year. Plus equity and benefits.
