Sr. Backend Engineer (AIML)

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer skilled in working across multiple technologies to build highly scalable, lowlatency distributed systems optimized for AIML workloads. You will lead the development of innovative software products and solve complex technical challenges for fastgrowing startups and enterprise companies. The ideal candidate excels in designing and implementing largescale applications, AIMLdriven architectures, and has strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.

Requirements

You’ll be responsible for —

• The development of all serverside logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend.
• Ensuring subsecond server response and being responsible for implementing relational, document, key, object, or graph data stores, index stores, and messaging stores as needed.
• Writing clean, highquality, highperformance, and maintainable code.
• Building robust, secure, and scalable microservices.
• Implementing RESTful services with a metricdriven API Gateway.
• Designing and optimizing backend systems to handle largescale AIML data pipelines, model serving, and realtime data processing for predictive analytics.
• Developing a highly scalable and performant backend based on eventdriven architecture with AIML integration.
• Integrating AIML model APIs into backend services and ensuring optimal performance of those models.
• Breaking down features into tasks and driving the evolution of the backend architecture to support AIML models at scale.
• The entire lifecycle of stories: development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements.
• Solving complex technical problems.
• Performing an objective analysis of the problem statement and coming up with an unbiased technical solution before writing a single line of code.
• Evaluating relevant technologies, influencing, and driving architecture and design discussions.
• Coordinating crossfunctionally to ensure the project meets business objectives and compliance standards. This includes collaborating with QAs, PMs to ensure timely delivery of highquality apps.
• Participating in, designing, and driving the code review process.

  You need —
  

  • Overall 6+ years of software development experience, with deep expertise in frameworks and languages such as Java, Go, and Python, including 3+ years of focused, handson experience with Golang.
  • Experience with frameworks like Springboot, Quarkus, GinMux.
  • Experience in working with microservice architectures, transactional systems, and distributed environments.
  • Proficient in building GraphQL APIs.
  • Proficient in OOP, SQL, Design Patterns with data modeling experience in relational databases.
  • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with AIML model deployment, performance tuning, and backend system integration.
  • Experience with scalable infrastructure for AIML model serving and orchestration of machine learning workflows.
  • Experience in optimizing backend systems for AIML workloads in production environments.
  • Excitement about challenges in building AIpowered systems that can handle largescale inference and data processing in production environments.
  • Exposure in building RESTful APIs with monitoring, fault tolerance, and metrics (with something like NewRelic).
  • Proficient with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), and version control (Git).
  • Wellversed with TDD and Test Engineering and Automation.
  • Experience mentoring a team of 23 engineers.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work independently in a fluid environment with minimaltono guidance.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • To be agile and able to adapt quickly to changing requirements, scope, and priorities.
  • Basic working knowledge of frontend technologies.

    • Experience with AIML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or MLFlow.
    • Experience deploying serverless applications to GCP.
    • Experience in Cloud Run, Cloud PubSub, Cloud Tasks, Kubernetes, Cloud Vision.
    • Experience with AWS stack.
    • Opensource contributions, side projects, blog posts, and YT tech videos.
