About the Role

At Rula, Sr Analytics Engineers are the architects behind our most critical data products—powering insights for everything from patient engagement to clinical operations. You’ll work handson in dbt, Redshift, Looker and Hex to design trusted, scalable data models that drive decisionmaking across the company. This is a highly crossfunctional role where you’ll partner with data scientists, product managers, and operational leaders to turn complex questions into elegant data solutions. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Data Science or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or business intelligence roles, with a proven track record of delivering highquality data models and reporting assets.

  • Advanced proficiency with dbt (Cloud or Core) and experience designing modular, welldocumented transformation layers in a modern data stack.

  • Strong SQL skills, with a deep understanding of data modeling best practices—particularly in a Kimballstyle dimensional warehouse.

  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses, especially Amazon Redshift, including performance tuning and query optimization.

  • Handson experience with BI tools, preferably Looker, including explore and dashboard development and LookML configuration.

  • A product mindset—youre focused on enabling others through clean, reusable data assets rather than oneoff analyses.

    • Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience building and maintaining a centralized semantic layer for a multiteam or multidomain environment.

      • Experience working in a healthcare or regulated data environment, with an understanding of HIPAA or PHI considerations in analytics.

      • Exposure to eventbased data models (e.g., user interaction or engagement logs) and translating them into reportingfriendly structures.

      • Comfort working in stakeholderfacing roles, helping nontechnical teams frame data questions and selfserve from curated datasets.

      • Experience contributing to data platform or data governance initiatives, such as metric standardization, data cataloging, or access management.

      • Familiarity with CICD practices in analytics engineering, including dbt Cloud jobs, testing frameworks, and version control (e.g., Git).
