Job Summary
The Director of Global Sales for our Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) business will lead a sales team and focus to achieve sales/profit goals across this focused product lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement short and long-term sales strategies and objectives to achieve the Company’s revenue goals. Provide input on sales objectives, opportunities and competition to senior business leadership.
- Assist in the development and implementation of annual sales plans and supporting sales programs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new sales practices and techniques across the entire business portfolio.
- Formulate and implement polices and objectives to ensure the efficient and effective operation of team activities.
- Partner with operational senior leadership to drive and design tactics, strategy and decision-making for new and existing products.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of customer needs, buying behavior, purchasing and decision-making and recommend creative solutions, methods and procedures to meet customer expectations.
- Oversee and assist with training programs designed to teach staff how to sell and/or represent NGS within the entire portfolio of CR products and services.
- Provide annual forecasting and perform a review for the NGS offering as well as each individual sales territory upon request.
- Develop sales, pricing and discount strategies, identify and capitalize on market opportunities, adjust strategies to reflect changing conditions.
- Prepare and implement a comprehensive global sales management plan to indicate target opportunities, potential new accounts, expansion of existing accounts and an analysis of competitor accounts.
- Generate new accounts and solicit business in assigned areas.
- Attain revenue and objectives, and where possible increase revenue, in the assigned territory and or accounts.
- Maintain contact with key customers and participate directly in sales for key accounts.
- Implements follow up and needs assessment for sales training.
- Direct activities of assigned group(s) to ensure optimum performance of the group/function.
- Responsible for personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews.
- Assist in the development of short- and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans.
- Integrate activities with those of other major organizational units (e.g. segments, departments, functions).
- Coordinate and interface closely with CRL Biologics testing commercial team to ensure cross selling is leveraged as much as possible and support is bi-directional between the teams
- Work with CRL Biologics testing team to ensure communications and customer interactions are well coordinated and seamless and minimize crossed communications and redundancies.
- Assist in the development and recommend departmental budget and authorize expenditures.

- Ensure all information is accurately maintained in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System.

Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in life science related field. Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) preferred.
- Experience:
- Ten or more years related experience and/or training in NGS sales, strongly preferred.
- Experience with leading a sales team, strongly preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Other: Excellent leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence at the highest organizational levels.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $150K - $200K USD annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
