About the Company

We are partnering with a fastgrowing climatetech organization headquartered in Europe, operating globally with naturebased carbon projects. The company manages one of the few validated and verified ARR (Afforestation, Reforestation, Revegetation) projects worldwide, located in Paraguay.

The Role

As Senior Carbon Project & Certification Manager, you will take full ownership of the endtoend certification process of the company’s flagship ARR project. This includes preparing technical documentation, leading audits, coordinating with validationverification bodies, and ensuring successful credit issuance under international standards.

You will work fully remote, with 2–4 annual trips to Paraguay for onsite monitoring, verification, and stakeholder engagement.

What you’ll do
  • Lead the certification lifecycle: Verra VCS (core), transition from SOCIALCARBON to CCB, organic certification, and compliance with local standards in Paraguay.
  • Prepare and submit PDDs, Monitoring Reports, and verification documentation, ensuring precision and rigor in GHG accounting.
  • Coordinate with Validation & Verification Bodies (VVBs) and manage audits and stakeholder consultations.
  • Oversee monitoringdata collection with local teams; ensure reporting on cobenefits.
  • Conduct research on carbon markets, methodologies (e.g. VM0047), and innovations to optimize credit value.
  • Produce clear, technical reports and presentations; maintain highquality documentation.
  • Travel to Paraguay 2–4 times per year for field monitoring and verification activities.
    • What we’re looking for
      • 3+ years of handson experience managing certification processes for carbon projects.
      • Proven track record with Verra VCS (PDDs, Monitoring Reports, audits, stakeholder consultations).
      • Background in a VVB (Validation & Verification Body) or a carbon project developer (e.g., South Pole, Land Life Company, Climate Impact Partners, EcoPlanet Bamboo, Livelihoods Carbon Funds).
      • Fluent English (C1) and Spanish (C1) – required for direct engagement with local stakeholders.
      • University degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Sustainability, or related fields.
      • Strong analytical writing and documentation skills; high precision in GHG calculations.
      • Proactive, autonomous, and comfortable managing multiple certification streams.

          • Experience with ARR methodologies (ARAMS0007, VM0047).
          • Familiarity with soil organic carbon sampling and cobenefit monitoring.
          • Leadership potential to manage a small team in the future.
