The Role:

We’re looking for a strategic and highimpact Business Development Director to lead our global business development initiatives and drive scalable growth across international markets. You’ll play a foundational role in shaping how Paddle identifies, builds, and scales strategic business opportunities that expand our reach, strengthen our offering, and create value for our customers worldwide.

This is a highvisibility, senior leadership role that requires exceptional commercial acumen, strong crossfunctional collaboration, and the ability to operate both strategically and tactically across multiple global markets. You’ll be instrumental in building Paddle’s next phase of growth through scalable outbound systems, market expansion, and innovative gotomarket strategies.

As a key member of our international GTM leadership team, you’ll work closely with teams across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Legal to define our global business development approach and deliver measurable impact across key growth metrics.

What youll do:

Strategic Business Development Leadership

Lead and execute Paddle’s global business development strategy, identifying and pursuing highvalue growth opportunities across international markets

Build scalable outbound systems and repeatable winning strategies that drive consistent pipeline generation and revenue growth

Design and implement systematic approaches to market entry, prospect identification, and opportunity development across global markets

Develop and optimise business development processes, tools, and methodologies that can be replicated across regions and teams

Drive productivity improvements through AIpowered tools and automation, implementing cuttingedge technology to enhance prospecting, lead qualification, and outbound execution

CrossFunctional Collaboration

Partner with Product teams to identify market gaps and influence roadmap priorities based on business development insights

Collaborate with Marketing on demand generation, thought leadership, and integrated campaigns that support outbound business development efforts

Work closely with Sales teams to ensure seamless handoffs and optimize conversion from business developmentgenerated opportunities

Coordinate with Operations teams to build scalable systems and automation that support global business development execution

Partner with Technology teams to evaluate, implement, and optimize AIpowered business development tools that enhance team productivity and results

Market Intelligence & Strategy

Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify white space opportunities and competitive insights across global markets

Shape Paddle’s international expansion strategy by identifying market trends, regulatory considerations, and growth opportunities

Build and maintain deep understanding of the global payments and SaaS ecosystem to inform strategic decisions

Develop datadriven insights and market intelligence that inform scalable business development strategies and tactics

Team Development & Execution

Build and scale the global business development function, ensuring bestinclass talent density through rigorous hiring standards and strategic talent acquisition

Create repeatable training programs, playbooks, and methodologies that ensure consistent execution across global markets

Establish systematic processes for lead generation, opportunity qualification, and pipeline management that can scale internationally

Implement performance measurement systems and optimization frameworks that drive continuous improvement in business development effectiveness

Leverage AI and machine learning tools to enhance prospecting accuracy, personalize outbound messaging at scale, and optimize business development workflows for maximum productivity

Drive comprehensive talent development programs that accelerate team performance, including mentorship frameworks, skill development pathways, and career progression planning

Experience & Background

10+ years of experience in business development, with a focus on building scalable outbound systems and repeatable winning strategies in B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments

Proven track record of building and optimising business development functions from early stage to mature, scalable operations with demonstrated ability to attract and develop toptier talent

Experience designing and implementing systematic approaches to market entry and business development across international markets

Deep understanding of global markets, with experience building repeatable processes that work across different regulatory environments and business cultures

Strong background in talent development and performance optimization, with experience creating highperforming teams through strategic hiring and comprehensive development programs

Skills & Capabilities

Exceptional ability to design and build scalable business development systems, processes, and methodologies that drive consistent results

Strong strategic mindset combined with systematic execution; ability to create repeatable frameworks while delivering measurable results across multiple markets

Outstanding analytical skills with experience building datadriven business development strategies and optimisation frameworks

Experience with modern business development technology stack including CRM systems, AIpowered prospecting tools, automation platforms, and performance measurement systems

Proven ability to create and scale winning outbound strategies that leverage AI and automation to maximise team productivity and results
