Paid Time Off:

AMSURG offers paid time off, 9 observed holidays, and paid family leave. You accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) each pay period and depending on your position and can earn a minimum of 20 days and up to 25 days per calendar year.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Strategic HR Business Partner (also known as Strategic Business Partner, People & Culture) provides advice, coaching, and consultation to business leaders around all people issues, partnering with leaders to be forward thinking about people implications of business decisions. Aligns business strategy to future talent needs and workforce strategies to drive superior organizational performance.

This Strategic HR Business Partner role drives value by ensuring that leaders are equipped with consultative advice around all people issues, serving as a thought partner through deep understanding of business strategy and needs. Considered the “voice of the business” to the People & Culture team, and the “voice of the People & Culture team” to the business.

Work Schedule: This is primarily a remote workstyle position. However, strong preference will be given to candidates that can comfortably commute to our corporate office in Nashville, TN. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Owns the employee life cycle and employee experience for their respective business unit(s).
  • Provides strategy, guidance, and support to business leaders in the overall approach to people management; ensures alignment with business strategy, such that people implications of business decisions are clearly understood.
  • Identifies business needs and helps bring relevant and impactful HR solutions to the business.
  • Advises on and shapes the nature of People & Culture programs, processes, policies, and service delivery based on the business environment/strategy.
  • Keeps business leaders informed of impactful HR trends and or business changes that may have people implications (e.g., automation)
  • Consults with business leaders on People & Culture programs/initiatives including workforce planning and recruitment, leadership development, employee development and training, performance management and compensation reviews, career and succession, workforce analytics, and organizational effectiveness within a specific business unit.
  • Ensures business units have the necessary human capital required (right number and skills/capabilities) to execute on business strategy.
  • Consults with business leaders on execution of People & Culture programs based on unique business needs and understanding of people strategy.
  • Leads employee relations matters with professionalism, ensuring fair and consistent resolution in alignment with company policies, state laws and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Conducts investigations into employee concerns or grievances, maintaining confidentiality, and delivering on timely resolutions.
  • Collaborates with management to implement proactive strategies for enhancing employee engagement, morale, and productivity.
  • Provides coaching, guidance, and education to managers on employee relations, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies and ensure that AMSURG remains as secure as possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:

Education & Experience:

  • B.A./B.S. in Business, HR, or related discipline is required.
  • 5-8+ years of progressive HR experience; preferably as an HR Business Partner.
  • Experience in at least two of the following HR functional areas:  talent development, talent management, performance management, succession planning, talent assessment, HR process improvement, employee relations.
  • Proven ability to leverage innovation in a growing organization.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of HR practices and policies.
  • Proven success driving diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and role modeling associated cultural values.
  • Exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact positively with stakeholders at all levels across the organization.
  • Demonstrated advising and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, establish alternative solutions, and determine the optimal course of action in the context of broader business objectives.
  • Able to consistently work well under pressure, prioritize, meet deadlines, deliver projects to completion, and successfully manage results.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and complex situations with sound judgement, tact, and discretion.
  • Able to understand, navigate, and design in a highly matrixed organizational structure.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare/ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) space is strongly preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Detail-oriented and organized.  High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.  Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings. Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
