The Doctors Company is seeking an E-Discovery Analyst to join our team. This is a hybrid or remote opportunity depending on the final candidate's location from the company's offices.
Position Mission
We are seeking a E-Discovery Analyst to lead defensible data collection, search, and governance across the eDiscovery lifecycle—supporting legal and HR requests with precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement in tools, processes, and data integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required
- Juris Doctor (JD) or paralegal certification preferred; legal training or experience working within a legal environment is a plus
- 3–5 years of experience in e-discovery, digital forensics, legal technology, or data analytics, ideally within a corporate legal, litigation support, or law firm setting
- Proficiency in industry-standard e-discovery tools and platforms
- Experience with data preservation, collection, processing, filtering, and production techniques, especially in relation to legal holds.
Responsibilities
eDiscovery Data Collection and Preservation
- Create a project management folder for each case that a legal hold or HR request is issued for.
- Create a spreadsheet to track the progress of the data collection and preservation.
- For each custodian named in a legal hold or HR request, collect the data from their workstations, file shares and email sources. Store the collected data in EnCase evidence
- Collect the data from the department shares for each department that there is a custodian in the case.
- For each custodian, track the data collected for them for prior cases.
- Collect the data from the policy and claim files named in the legal hold.
eDiscovery Search and Document Production
- For each request to produce data, find out the scope of the search, and the search criteria
- Set up search jobs and manage the running of the search jobs.
- Check samples of the search results to determine whether the search was set up correctly, and try to eliminate false positives.
eDiscovery Technology Management
- Maximize the functionality of current eDiscovery tools through proper configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Evaluate and test alternative eDiscovery tools and solutions, identifying opportunities for improvement or replacement.
- Lead or support implementation of new tools, including testing, documentation, and training as needed.
Data Governance
- Maintain and enforce protocols for defensible data preservation, collection, classification, and retention in alignment with corporate data governance standards and legal hold requirements.
- Collaborate with Legal, IT, and Data Governance teams to ensure consistent application of data governance policies throughout the e-discovery lifecycle.
- Support the development and refinement of data maps, inventories, and custodial tracking to enhance visibility into data sources relevant to litigation and investigations.
- Identify data quality risks and contribute to the implementation of corrective measures related to data integrity, duplication, and redaction accuracy.
- Design, implement, and maintain data lifecycle protocols for structured and unstructured data across enterprise systems, including classification, retention, and archival processes aligned with IT operational standards.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure, data architecture, and platform teams to ensure consistent execution of data governance practices across storage, backup, and data access environments.
- Develop and maintain system-level data inventories and source maps to support operational visibility, data lineage tracking, and efficient data retrieval across platforms and repositories.
- Monitor and improve data quality by identifying issues related to integrity, duplication, and accessibility, and by deploying automated remediation workflows and validation checks across enterprise data systems.

- Support business process optimization and efficiency by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions as needed.
- Take on various projects and assignments from management, ensuring timely completion and alignment with company goals
- Provide regular updates to leadership on assigned projects, meeting deadlines and delivering quality results.
- Assist with department and company-wide initiatives, including research, surveys, audits, and process improvements.
Salary Range:$106,070 - $139,317.Compensation varies based on skills, knowledge, and education. We consider factors such as specialized skills, depth of knowledge in the field, and educational background to ensure fair and competitive pay.
