Job description

Who We Are:

We believe that open-source software, open standards and APIs are the greatest transformational tools for organizations in the modern software development era.

Our mission at Diagrid is to provide developers with APIs and tools that help them focus on their code and not on infrastructure. As online digital services need to handle more load and run on multiple clouds or on-premises environments, programming to higher level abstractions delivers consistent, secure and reliable code that is easily portable and helps organizations de-risk their projects.

Diagrid is founded by the creators of the Dapr and KEDA open-source projects, and who led the user experience, design and development of hyper-scale infrastructure cloud services, serverless platforms and open-source projects at Microsoft. Dapr has now achieved graduated status within the CNCF, joining renowned projects like Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Istio.

We are backed by top VC firms and supported with industry leading investors and advisors including Joe Beda (Kubernetes Co-Founder, former Co-Founder / CTO at Heptio) Matt Klein (Creator of Envoy, Lyft), Mark Russinovich (CTO, Microsoft Azure), William Morgan (Creator of Linkerd, CEO Buoyant), Seth Vargo (Senior Staff Engineer, Google), Adam Gross (Former CEO, Heroku), Sri Viswanath (Former CTO, Atlassian), Adam Frankl (Dev Marketing Expert, Neo4J & JFrog), and Roopak Venkatakrishnan (Head of platforms, Bolt).

About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced Technical Marketing Manager to join our fully remote team and drive go-to-market strategy for our growing product portfolio. You'll be the strategic voice that translates our technical innovations into compelling market narratives, working at the intersection of our open-source Dapr community and enterprise customer needs.

You will work closely with our product managers, engineering, sales engineers, and customer success engineering. The role reports directly to the head of Marketing.

This role is perfect for a seasoned product marketer who thrives in the developer tools space and understands the unique dynamics of open-core business models. You'll own all product marketing deliverables while helping shape how we communicate the value of distributed systems solutions to technical and business audiences.

What You'll Own:

Product Positioning & Messaging

  • Develop compelling positioning and messaging for Diagrid Enterprise, Diagrid Catalyst, and future product offerings

  • Create differentiated value propositions that resonate with both technical decision-makers and business stakeholders

  • Establish clear product narratives that connect open-source Dapr benefits to enterprise commercial value

  • Highlights product benefits to both the development community and the platform/SRE teams who deploy and maintain those applications

New Launch Planning & Execution

  • Lead product launch strategies from planning through execution

  • Develop comprehensive launch plans including positioning, pricing guidance, sales enablement, and demand generation support

  • Coordinate cross-functional launch activities across product, sales, marketing, and customer success teams

Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis

  • Monitor competitive landscape in the microservices, workflow orchestration, and developer platform spaces

  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities and validate product-market fit

  • Develop competitive battle cards and objection handling for sales teams

Content & Sales Enablement

  • Create high-impact marketing collateral, including solution briefs, case studies, whitepapers, and demo scripts

  • Help develop sales tools, training materials, and competitive positioning documents for the commercial offerings

  • Partner with engineering and the founders to create thought leadership content that drives demand

Customer & Community Insights

  • Conduct customer interviews and gather feedback to inform the product roadmap and marketing strategy

  • Build intelligence around the open-source usage

  • Develop customer advocacy programs and success stories

Demand Generation Support

  • Collaborate on campaign strategy and content development

  • Support event marketing including conference presentations, webinars, and trade shows

What We're Looking For:

Essential Experience

  • 4-6 years of product marketing experience in B2B technology companies

  • Proven experience with open-core or open-source business models

  • Strong background in developer tools, infrastructure, or cloud platforms

  • Track record of successful product launches and go-to-market execution

  • Proven experience in applying new AI-driven approaches to accelerating your work (writing, reporting, etc.)

Technical Understanding

  • Solid grasp of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native development. We would expect you to have comfort and competence to the level that you can demo our code-first solution and articulate the core functions and primitives.

  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into business value

  • Experience marketing to both developers and DevOps audiences

Core Competencies

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using AI and data to drive decisions

  • Project planning, with attention to detail

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally

  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, remote environments

  • Customer-centric approach with strong empathy for user needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with workflow orchestration, AI/ML platforms, or enterprise infrastructure solutions

  • Background in both technical and business stakeholder communication

  • Previous experience at high-growth B2B SaaS companies

  • Familiarity with open-source community dynamics and contribution models
