📍 Location: Remote (Cluj-Napoca + Travel)
💸 Salary: £35,000-£45,000
At Alliants, we're on a mission to transform every customer engagement into something exceptional. We believe in working smart together to push the boundaries of company culture and create future-proof customer experiences.
Are you passionate about creating meaningful customer experiences and helping organisations deliver on their brand promises?
Join us as a Associate Product Manager in our growing Product Department team! 🚀
The role:
As an Associate Product Manager at Alliants, you will be a key member of our product team, focused on executing the product vision. You will report to the Head of Product and work closely with our development squads to turn strategy into reality. Your primary goal is to ensure our development teams have everything they need to build high-quality features that solve real user problems.
Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment, you are a quick learner, able to navigate through technical complexity with ease whilst communicating effectively with engineers and providing timely updates to the Head of Product.
This role is perfect for someone with a technical aptitude and a passion for product who excels at detail, documentation and process. You will be responsible for translating high-level requirements into clear, actionable user stories, investigating technical possibilities with our partners and ensuring a smooth development workflow.
Some key areas you’ll be working on:
- Supporting Product Delivery: Work closely with the Head of Product to understand the product roadmap and assist in delivering specific product functionality.
- Requirements Definition: Break down high-level features (epics) into well-defined user stories and tickets with clear acceptance criteria for the development team.
- Technical Investigation: Interpret technical documentation from our integration partners, check API capabilities and use tools like Postman to perform basic API validation.
- Backlog Management: Assist in managing and prioritising the team's backlog during sprint planning and facilitate refinement sessions to ensure tickets are ready for development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the Head of Product and the development team (onshore and offshore) to clarify requirements, answer questions and remove day-to-day blockers.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear support documentation for new features to ensure internal and external stakeholders are informed and prepared for releases.
- Communication: Communicate with vendors and third-party service providers to gather information and assist in resolving technical queries.
Important to have:
- Experience in a product, technical, or analytical role (e.g., Associate PM, Business Analyst, QA, Technical Support) with a passion for product management and technology.
- A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Experience with agile development tools, such as Jira.
- Familiarity with the concept of APIs and a strong aptitude and willingness to learn technical tools like Postman. Direct experience is a significant plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, simple language for different audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- A passion for technology and creating exceptional customer experiences.
- Experience within hospitality, payments or a SaaS environment is a bonus.
KPIs
- Translate product requirements from the Head of Product into detailed user stories and tickets, complete with clear acceptance criteria to guide the development team.
- Conduct technical discovery by reviewing partner API documentation and using tools like Postman to validate technical capabilities and ensure proposed solutions are feasible.
- Manage and prioritise the team's backlog in close collaboration with engineers, facilitating refinement sessions to ensure work is well-defined and 'sprint-ready'.
- Act as the key day-to-day liaison between the product strategy and the development squad, clarifying requirements and removing blockers to ensure smooth execution.
- Create clear documentation for internal teams, including release notes and support articles, to ensure new features are understood and successfully adopted across the business.
