Job description

Actively manage Parts, Garments & Accessories (PG&A) suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products to Polaris distribution facilities.  Coordinate with demand planning analysts to ensure the proper quantities are purchased to achieve strategic inventory and service level objectives to meet customer needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and foster relationships with select suppliers to drive consistent performance
  • Coordinate and communicate with multiple departments to achieve business goals
  • Review system recommended purchase quantities collaborating with demand planning analysts to improve accuracy
  • Approve purchase orders, ensure on-time delivery and expedite orders as necessary to achieve fill rate goals
  • Achieve fill rate goals to deliver superior customer service
  • Resolve backorder issues in accordance with goals
  • Execute supplier cost & inventory reduction initiatives
  • Negotiate cost, lead time, minimum and economic order quantities to Polaris’ benefit
  • Proactively identify and communicate urgent issues to supervisor
  • Analyze and troubleshoot supplier invoicing and purchase order discrepancies
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Foundational knowledge in supply chain management (i.e. MRP, logistics, and inventory management)
  • Strong aptitude to solve problems and improve processes
  • Strong ability to negotiate, influence, and resolve conflict with diplomacy and partnership
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Exemplary organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with a minimum level of supervision
  • Expertise in high level communication and presentation
  • Proven track record of cross functional communication and partnership
  • Continually identify improvement opportunities and bring a solution-oriented mindset

PREFFERED:

  • 2+ years of purchasing or relevant experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment with flexibility for working remotely upon manager’s discretion.
  • Minimal travel for supplier, distribution center, and dealer visits including remote outdoor locations

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $60,000 to $75,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.  While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range. 

To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
