Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

A rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company, Alarm.com is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Alarm.com Field Services Team. The Field Services Team is responsible for providing training, advanced support, and product testing, internally and externally on all Alarm.com products & services.  The ideal candidate is well versed in residential and commercial property security products, platforms, and applications, well-spoken and enthusiastic, enjoys building business relationships, and excels in an ever-changing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Facilitate learning of all Alarm.com partners through field trainings and events
  • Partner with internal stakeholders/managers regarding partner needs, issues, and platform feedback
  • Perform needs assessment with partners to determine level of training needed
  • Gather feedback from partners and customers on how we can improve our product and services
  • Assist partners in the field with installation, troubleshooting, and product testing
  • Participate in product and feature testing and validation
  • Collaborate with internal teams to stay up to date with new Alarm.com product release features to properly respond to partner inquiries.
  • 50 – 75% travel to engage with partners and provide trainings
  • Other Duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years experience of commercial installations in the field that include access control, security and video
  • 1-2 years sales experience preferred, specifically in the security space
  • Experience traveling 50-75% of the time in a customer service, sales or installation-oriented role highly preferred 
  • Works effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience working with multiple cross-functional partners
  • Familiarity with Alarm.com highly preferred 
  • Proven ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with external training programs
