Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to take full ownership of daily accounting operations for this high-volume contractor business. This is a hands-on accounting role that requires precise transaction management, job-level cost allocation, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-job environment and has strong experience in both QuickBooks Online and Excel.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in construction, contracting, or similar job-costing environments
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (including pivot tables, allocation models, and formulas)
Familiarity with outsourced payroll providers such as BBSI
Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Proven experience improving or automating financial workflows
Preferred Experience:
CPA or CMA certification
Experience in home repair, remodeling, or specialty contractor services
Multi-entity or multi-region accounting experience
Understanding of GAAP and tax compliance regulations
Key Responsibilities
Daily Accounting & Job Costing
Record and categorize daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
Allocate job-level costs accurately (labor, materials, overhead, regional expenses)
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Manage vendor payments, invoices, journal entries, and receipts
Monitor accounts payable and receivable
Payroll & Expense Allocations
Review BBSI payroll reports and ensure job/regional allocations are accurate
Track and reallocate daily and monthly expenses based on allocation methods
Maintain alignment between payroll data and cost centers
Reporting & Month-End Close
Deliver weekly profitability reports for internal stakeholders
Produce timely monthly financial statements and management reports
Lead month-end and annual close processes
Coordinate with external auditors and provide required financial documentation
Ensure compliance with GAAP and tax regulations
Process Improvement & Workflow Optimization
Identify manual processes that can be automated or improved
Collaborate with leadership to streamline workflows and reduce repetitive tasks
Support documentation and implementation of new financial procedures
