Job description

TL;DR:

  • Highimpact product owner role at a fastgrowing, venturebacked SaaS startup (TenOneTen Ventures, Jason Calacanis)
  • Fully remote, full benefits package, and equity
  • Competitive compensation: $160K–$190K + equity, unlimited PTO, wellness incentives, full health coverage
  • A handson role owning the core product execution and roadmap alongside the CEO and founding team
    • About SparkPlug

SparkPlug is the leading performance platform for frontline retail teams in the cannabis industry, powering realtime incentives, training, content, and analytics. We directly integrate with POS systems to connect brands, retailers, and frontline employees, enabling measurable sales lift and operational excellence. SparkPlug is used by over 3000 businesses in the US.

We’re a fastgrowing, venturebacked startup on a mission to transform how the $20T+ global retail sector collaborates, executes, and rewards performance. Our investors include TenOneTen Ventures, the creator of Google AdSense, and Jason Calacanis.

      About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead execution across our core platform modules. You’ll be the only fulltime product manager in the company, working directly alongside the CEO (who owns product), a product designer, and a 12person engineering team. Our current senior PM is moving on, and this role will step into the driver’s seat.

This is a handson product builder role — not a strategyonly position or a people manager. You’ll write specs, manage sprints, QA releases, run discovery, and own daytoday product operations across a highgrowth, multimodule platform. You’ll also be expected to operate with speed, clarity, and strong product judgment.

You’ll bring clarity to chaos, help us ship smarter, and evolve our product development culture with an AInative mindset — from ticket writing to customer feedback to internal tooling.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in autonomy, works well with technical teams, and wants to have a massiveimpact on product direction at the ground level.

      What You’ll Do
      • Own product execution across SparkPlug’s core modules: Sparks, Courses, Events, Snaps, and more
      • Write clear, actionable tickets and product specs that drive alignment and unblock engineers
      • Partner with the CEO and Head of Design to shape roadmap priorities and feature definitions
      • Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, QA, and weekly ship cycles with a fully remote engineering team
      • Conduct product discovery and user research to identify and validate the most important problems
      • Create rapid feedback loops with customers, internal teams, and the data to drive iteration
      • Use AI tools to accelerate product work: from specs to documentation to competitive research
      • Be the connective tissue between engineering, design, gotomarket, and customer success
      • Drive product quality, performance, and clarity from idea through launch and iteration
        • Requirements

          Must Haves:
          • 4–8+ years in Product Management or Product Owner roles at earlystage or growthstage SaaS companies
          • Proven experience owning product execution from roadmap to shipped features — not just strategy
          • Strong user intuition and product judgment: you know when to test, when to iterate, and when to ship
          • You write clean, unambiguous specs and know how to keep a sprint moving forward
          • Confident running a product process with limited overhead — you like velocity and autonomy
          • Deep comfort working with technical teams in distributed environments
          • Familiarity with POS systems, B2B2C models, or complex SaaS architectures is a plus
          • AInative mindset: fluent in using LLMs and AI tools to supercharge your product workflow
            • Bonus Points For:
              • Experience in the cannabis, CPG, retail tech, or workforce enablement industries
              • Experience with incentive management, training platforms, or LMS products
              • Familiarity with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, etc.)
              • Ability to grow into a Head of Product or Founding PM track as the company scales
              • Experience writing SQL, working with data, or building internal tools with AI copilots
                • Benefits

                  • Salary Range: $160,000–$190,000 + significant equity package
                  • Unlimited PTO + flexible work schedule
                  • Health Benefits: Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
                  • Wellness Stipends + mental health resources
                  • Remote First: Work anywhere in the U.S.
                  • Team Retreats: Companysponsored gatherings once a year
                  • Ongoing Development: Budget and resources for learning and growth
