About the Team

The Public Safety Special Investigative Unit (SIU) – Geolocation Investigative Team (GIT) is comprised of former law enforcement experts who leverage LexisNexis solutions and data offerings to provide investigative insight for LexisNexis customers. The Geolocation Investigative Team also serves to work with the customer by analyzing data and research/analysis methodologies, leveraging best practices, procedures, and supporting functions required to maintain the quality and timely delivery of information.

About the Role

Dedicated Virtual Analyst – District Attorney’s Office for client in PST

This position is designed to support one of our clients as a Subject Matter Expert in Geolocation Analysis. The Geolocation Analyst role requires a highly skilled user of Accurint-TraX and LexisNexis Risk Solution resources. The analyst will apply geolocation mapping and pattern analysis investigative techniques to assist in prosecuting criminal cases using LexisNexis Risk Solution resources and demonstrate best practices. Analysts are responsible for helping prosecutors and criminal investigators by applying their expertise in Geolocation Analysis.

Position can be remote in the US supporting a client in PST.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of cellular records and other types of records containing geolocation data, communications, or other content provided by the District Attorney’s Office, to offer insights and develop opinions to support successful prosecutions.
  • Recognized by the client as a Subject Matter Expert in Call Detail Record and Geolocation Data Analysis through knowledge, skill, experience, training, or education.
  • Conduct geolocation and communication analysis using Accurint-TraX, and create demonstrative aids such as maps, charts, graphs, and reports to illustrate analysis results and support expert opinions during trial and/or hearings as needed.
  • Provide opinions as a Subject Matter Expert through in-person and/or virtual testimony or in documents, as requested by the District Attorney’s Office.
  • Capable of conducting peer reviews on cases for insight, evaluation, and feedback, either formally or informally.
  • Explain complex processes simply and clearly to jurors, judges, or attorneys.
  • Maintain high engagement levels with attorneys or investigators.
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Learn and use industry-standard analytic software at an expert level, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, TechSmith Camtasia, Accurint-TraX, and other LexisNexis Risk Solutions tools.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients through detailed analysis and communication.
  • Work professionally and efficiently, often independently, to produce high-quality analysis, demonstrative aids, and reports.
  • Collaborate with team members within the Special Investigations Unit – Geolocation Investigative Team, and external LexisNexis Risk Solutions teams, as needed.
  • Identify and communicate potential exculpatory information to the District Attorney’s Office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Law enforcement experience required (sworn or civilian)
  • Experience testifying as a Subject Matter Expert in call detail record and geolocation analysis preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in call detail record and geolocation data analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, mathematics, or a related field. Public safety and/or regulatory government experience is preferred
  • Demonstrates competence in applying logic to solve problems
  • Demonstrates competence in research and resolving issues
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and dynamic
  • Proficient in Google Earth Pro, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
  • Preferred experience with LexisNexis solutions
  • US Citizen
  • Available on call as needed for urgent case support
  • Travel – 25-50%

The successful candidate will be required to pass both the standard company background check for all employees and an enhanced criminal background check conducted by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners conducted in compliance with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information System (“CJIS”) security policy. Employees in this role may also be subject to ongoing criminal background checks as required by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners. Candidates and/or employees who are not certified by state and local law enforcement to access criminal justice information will not be able to perform the essential functions of this role. Employees who subsequently fail to obtain or maintain CJIS compliance may be reassigned or terminated.

Position is eligible for base salary plus an annual bonus.

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for California and Washington DC: $88,900 - 148,000 USD

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for New York and New Jersey: $85,000 - 141,600 USD
