Provides assistance with field and laboratory research studying carnivore responses to urbanization; studies the disease ecology of mesocarnivores; compiles field data by radiotracking and livecapture; assists with data management to include entering data from the field into the databases for GIS analysis and data summaries for reports; maintains the maintenance of research equipment, supplies and vehicles; monitors supplies and orders supplies as needed; work schedule varies including some evening and weekend hours required totaling no more than 40 hours per week; valid drivers license is required; conducts field work within the Chicago area.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. 1 year of relevant experience required. Ability to work alone outdoors for long hours under variable conditions (cold, rain, and biting insects); conducts field work within the Chicago area; rabies pre-exposure vaccination or recent titer check; work schedule varies including some evening and weekend hours required totaling no more than 40 hours per week; must have previous experience studying coyote responses and compiling field data by radiotracking and live capture or quantitative/spatial analysis; must possess a valid drivers license. Ability to take accurate notes, communicate clearly, and work independently is highly desired.
Bachelor's Level Degree with a Major in wildlife management or zoology or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.

The pay range for this profile is $ 15.86 - $20.74 /hourly. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications
