Are you ready to bring your tech skills into the operating room — without scrubbing in?
Vail Health is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Systems Analyst to support the critical applications behind our hospital surgical services and four ambulatory surgery centers. In this role, you’ll oversee a variety of perioperative technologies — including EMRs, practice management systems, RCM tools, dictation platforms, and OR scheduling systems — ensuring they run efficiently, stay up to date, and support high-quality patient care.
You'll serve as a key liaison between clinical teams, IT, and vendors, translating operational needs into technical solutions, leading implementations, and supporting users from go-live through long-term optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, build, testing, and ongoing support of assigned perioperative systems
  • Coordinate installations, upgrades, and user training in collaboration with vendors and clinical teams
  • Analyze and troubleshoot software/hardware issues; identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Translate clinical/operational workflows into functional technical specs
  • Maintain accurate documentation: workflows, user guides, test scripts, and system configurations
  • Serve as a trainer and tester for application deployments and enhancements
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination between departments
  • Adhere to change control procedures and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotation to support system users after hours
  • Promote and model Just Culture principles in all interactions

What You'll Bring

  • 1+ year of systems analyst or IT support experience required
  • 1–3 years of experience in healthcare, surgical, or ASC environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of perioperative workflows, EMRs, and RCM platforms
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, basic computer hardware, and IT security best practices
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users
  • Strong documentation, communication, and training skills
  • Self-starter with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Application certifications preferred but not required

Preferred Experience

  • Surgical EMR modules
  • Ambulatory surgery center (ASC) systems and integrations
  • Dictation, scheduling, and appointment reminder tools
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare IT standards
